Solution!

I just unplugged my battery, pulled out the radio fuse, pumped the brakes a few times, and put everything back. I turned the car on again with the iphone plugged in and it worked.

Hopefully this doesn't become a recurring problem.

Read below for the description of the problem.

I use a PA15-INFI iPod/iPhone adapter with my factory stereo w/ nav and sat. I used to be able to cycle through AM, FM1, and FM2 and then a few sat radio options (xm1, xm2 etc) when I pressed the radio button. I had the iPod adapter all set up for over a year now with no issues. Before plugging an iPod in, the radio displays "Aux" waiting for an aux input. Previously when i plugged in the iphone, it changes to say XM followed by some track/playlist numbers before switching to the track or artist name or w/e i select. I plugged my iPhone in today and it didn't change from Aux or start playing. I pressed the radio button to cycle through and now I have no sat options, just AM, FM1, and FM2.

Does the Sat Radio box in the trunk have its own fuse that could have blown? I will try removing the radio fuse as well to reset it, but otherwise I am truly at a loss for what to do.

Thanks.

UPDATE: Found this thread from a while ago: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...-receiver.html
I will reset the radio like it says and see if I get past it for a while, but I'm worried this may become a recurring problem...

Have you paid for your sat radio? it isn't free.

I've never paid a cent. An interesting thought though, thanks. I don't believe I have to pay for sat radio to use the adapter. Anyone else know if this is the case?

I don't receive any signal from the satellites, but I had the functionality on the head unit. Literally, I have the box installed and wires running to my trunk, which is the wire I unplug from the radio and insert the PA15-Infi harness in between. Its my understanding this is how the PA15-Infi works (as opposed to the PA15-NIS which works on our cars that don't have the sat box installed in the trunk). I am thinking this is more of an electrical connection or reset issue.

I don't pay for mine, but it does work when I press the Radio button. However, it seems to be mostly news station, no music. Was it design like that or something?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. In some of our cars, where the original owner paid for the option, we have hardware sitting in the trunk that can connect to satellite radio signals. If you have that hardware, regardless of whether or not you have a subscription to XM/Sirius, you can receive the various radio stations from those providers. If you have the hardware, you'll see XM1 and XM1 and/or Sat1 and Sat2 when you press the "radio" button (this is in my '07, it may be different for earlier years). This is independent of whether you have a subscription or not.

I am using an iPod/iPhone adapter that tricks the radio into thinking its signal is the audio from the satellite hardware in the trunk. I do not need to have a satellite subscription to use the adapter. I do not get a single satellite channel.

As the subscription for sat radio is yearly, the previous owner could have had a sub that ran out when you owned the car. You have a sat radio enabled radio, but you still have to pay them to enable your radio to receive their signal.
