5AT Shift light question

Hey guys would it be possible to install a shift light or another tach with a shift light in our auto cars for use with the tiptronic manual shift mode?
any input would be helpful thanks!!!!

Yes, just have to find the tach output (RPM) wire/terminal for your vehicle. AutoMeter website provides guidance on G35's/350Z's. Another option is to check factory service manual for tach output.

Don't they shift automatically if you forget/late shift anyways?

I've never had mine shift automatically for me going through the gears, but it will shift for you on the way down.

I drove my brothers 06 sedan X and I'm pretty sure it shifts automatically without redlining or hesitation

I'll check again today

No, it doesn't shift up for you in tiptronic mode. Only down. You can bounce off redline all you want.

OP, I sure hope you regularly drag race your car (at a track), and you're not like all those Honda kids with huge tachs back in high school.

I say you get the tach that mounts to your hood like the fox body fanboys have .Makes for better areodynamics

Ops. My bad. I just checked and you're right. It doesn't shift. I had it mixed up with the escalade.
