2005 g35 headlights

Hi
just wondering if anybody can tell me how to get rid of the ugly round orange parking lens in the headlight. Ive heard you need to dremel it out. Is it going to look normal once cut out? Also the clearance strip light. Is it nessacary to retrofit the strip to get the whole thing to light up or just change the wedge bulb to an led?

I replaced the headlights in my '05 with the HID lights from an '06. Bought them new from a vendor on this site. Simple install, MUCH better lighting pattern and controlled brightness. NO orange lens.

If you have the cash, the projector headlight is a better option. I didn't so I baked some 04 reflector HLs that I bought on the cheap. You need a dremel for the turn signal. Just search for the headlight disassembly instructions on this site. The turn signals are in their own little modules, and you just take the plastic modules out and dremel it out. I used some clear flourescent lighting panel from Lowes that I bought for 10 bucks, measured out with a compass the diameter needed, and used the dremel's cutting tool to cut the circles out. I used some epoxy to put the panel on the turn signal modules. Be aware, experiment with different epoxys since some will "fume" and cloud your panel lens. You will need amber turn signals now.

As far as the clearance strips, I put the them in a vice after taking the HL apart, drilled 8 holes on each side, and put white 10mm LEDs in and wired them up. There are guides on this site on how to do it, and you can google a LED array wizard to help with wiring the leds up.

For the clearance strip, a bulb won't be enough to light it up completely. It will light up, but not at the same brightness throughout and will fade as you go down.

Here's a 9 led bulb i had in my car couple months back:

I would just put a led strip. You'd still need to open up your headlights to do this, so do the clear lens and leds at the same time.

I also installed 2 led strips from Autozone when I changed to the '06 lights.
