Bad O2 sensor caused by ART Pipes?

Background on my car, 2006 Automatic coupe with 82,000 kms. Mods Takeda intake, hypertech tuner, Art Pipes.

I installed my Art pipes professionally roughly 2 years ago and haven't had any issues. Within the last 2 weeks my Service engine Soon light has come on and stayed solidly. I haven't noticed any fuel consumption issues, or driveability complaints... but the light irritates me.

I used both my hypertech as well as an infiniti dealers Diagnostic tool to pull the code which was a P0037. Bad bank 1 left side O2 sensor. That being said the dealer is telling me their diagnostic tool could be throwing a bad code as the Cats are no longer present and here in Calgary, ALberta Canada I'm the only person thats has come in with the ART pipes. They have no experience with them.

They will not replace the O2 sensor based on the possibility of a bad code under my warranty which ordinarily would have covered the part and service.

Has anyone else had an issue of this nature? Or does anyone have some constructive advice on how to procede. Again, with no driveability complaints or any real adverse effects from the light being on I could continue to drive it as I normally would... but he light is irritating and I would love a concrete answer.

Thanks in advance guys.

I guess part of me was hoping there was a more in depth technical answer to my question instead of the simple one staring me in the face lol. I ordered one online, I'll swap it and hopefully the light goes away.

If you want to know if the sensor is bad, swap it with the bank 2 sensor. If you get a code for bank 2 then the sensor is bad. If you still get a bank 1 code, then there is something else causing the problem.

I had my right bank sensor go out when I installed my first set of HFCs which included a lean condition before I got my tune. It's been in and out thru smog checks when I switched back to OE cats, then ART Pipes and back to my latest set of HFCs without issues. Hope replacing it will clear your CES problem for good....Gary

Just replace the sensor and see if you can clear the code. If not sell the ART's to me

It just happens when you switch to HFCs or test pipes. It doesn't always happen, but there are always the lucky few this happens to. And get retuned so this would be less likely to happen again.
