Help?? Bumpyy ride on the G
Hi,
I have a 2003 G..I have about 96000 miles on the car..i have a tein suspension on it..have had the car for a couple years now..and it seems like the car is on very stiff suspension..i feel every bump on the car..can somebody help me to why it does that? is it the tein suspension or is that just our cars? Oh and i have 18'' rims on it with continental tires. And I did try to search the threads about this..couldn't find much that was helpful
Thank you in advance guys

Just bring it to a suspension shop and let them put it on a lift to inspect the bushings(shouldn't be much maybe $60 max)if there toast get them replaced with some high performance ones(order online)there not easy to put in.

I have this same problem with my G. Not to jack the OP's thread, but where would you suggest ordering high performance bushings?

Personally I'd recommend Tein Basic/Street Basis. Give you some height adjustment and the ride quality should be fairly good. Just be sure to take any recommendations on here with a grain of salt because everyone's definition of what is stiff or soft is going to differ.

If the suspension has been on the car for about a year or more, it could be blown like others are saying.
But if you just put the suspension in and the ride is bumpy, then the struts are too stiff. If it's bouncy, the struts are too soft.
And don't get Tein Basics. If you want a decent ride and decent handling, you want a suspension with adjustable struts. Anyone suggesting you buy coilovers without strut adjustment either knows nothing about tuning suspensions or are just trying to make a quick and easy sale.

How much traction you have dictates how your car will accelerate, turn, and brake. While good tires are a must, you get optimal traction when the tires are properly held to the ground, which is the job of your struts. The springs just help absorb the shock and transfer feel to the driver, so they really don't have much to do with traction in this scenario. So of course, performance suffers when your struts are not adequate enough or damaged. But realistically, there are a lot of coilovers available that will work just as good as those damaged coils. The coilovers he already has might be one of them.
