I'm looking at the service manual right now and it says use genuine nissan psf or the equivalent, but I'm not sure if it still stands because J-matic fluid was replaced by S-matic fluid. I was thinking about using Dexron III trans fluid. I don't think they sell redline psf near my house.

Also, my fluid is kinda dark, so should I replace all the psf fluid? If so, how much would I need? About 3 quarts?

Quote: A friend of mine is a master tech for Infiniti and he recommends using actual power steering fluid instead of tranny fluid. His point was that PS fluid contains lubricants and other wear additives specific to the PS system that tranny fluid doesn't and is better for the operation and longevity of the system.

Just a thought...........

Look on the PS cap, says it right there. It's not Matic-J/S fluid

DOT III refers to brake fluid.

Just use Genuine Nissan ATF, if you want factory stuff, or Dexron III ATF from your local parts place...
