Black tail lights

anybody know where i can get my tail lights tinted black around Houston, Texas? i bought some vinyls on ebay and they were a pain in the *** to put on and started to peel off after 1.5 months. can i get a plastic cover that clips on? or is there a spray i can buy and do myself?

I had mine tinted by a window tint shop. It has not peeled in over a year and a half. It doesn't look as clean as painted tint but it's not as permanent either.

From my experience, using plasti dip then spraying anything over it will change the material and will not allow it to peel (or easily atleast).

Google remove vht nite shades and theres info from people that removed it without any problems with different substances.

Oh okay thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it. I'm just worried when I go to get and inspection they will tell me I can't have my lights tinted because I've heard of that happening to people before

I just redid mines since it wasn't dark enough for my liking. Here's a comparison from stock to when I had about 2 coats on it to now where I did 4 more coats. Love the matte dark burgundy look instead of black gloss that tint does. Hope it helps.

STOCK

2 LIGHT COATS

6 LIGHT COATS

Yeah that looks pretty bad. I personally think blacked out lights are a 2009 trend and not meant for cars like these, but if you're set on having them you should probably wetsand and clearcoat, and wetsand again.

Keep in mind if you get rear ended and they mention your lights, you're now at fault.

no likey? When ever I see tinted tails, theyre all completely black which I hate that look. I love em but I'll probably remove it sooner or later with my paranoia of cops.

Nope. That just cheapened the look of the car
