alright i know a 370z differential will swap into a g35 but will it need anything or switch anything ?? also can the g35's differential swap into the 370z ?? my friend wants to swap needs some money lol his diff has 8k on his diff nd its vsld also mine is too ...

 

You have a vlsd in your 5at?

 

Provided both have 4-bolt flanges, they are interchangeable.

 

5at sports have VLSD

alright i just pulled the trigger on a 04 6sp differential with the 3.5 vsld with 22k couldnt pass up the deal !!! 180shipped !!! i just have a couple of questions . What do i need to install the pumkin or what needs to be modified for install ?? thanx for the help every one !!!also its getting installed on an 03 5at!

 

You bought the whole differential disc to disc? Why? All you needed was the lower gear set! Sounds like you created a lot of unnecessary work swapping out the whole differential....Gary

 

i did purchase the whole differential he wouldnt just sell the pumkin lol i think i kind of asked the wrong question i meant to say was what do i need to do to swap the pumkin ??any modifications needed ?? or part swapping from the other pumkin ??

 

You got a whole healthy rear diff including CV's for $180? Pretty sweet deal!

CV-Joints/Axle Half-shafts alone can cost quite a bit of money when/if they ever need to be replaced. I think someone was posting on here a few weeks ago looking for them and they were very pricey. Even used ones are selling for like $50-$80 each on E-bay not including shipping.

 

nothing needs to be modified. Its a direct swap with the current pumpkin. Just put in some fresh diff fluid before install. I did the same mod last year.

 

Swapping the entire differential is by far less work then opening up the diff and replacing the internals.

 

Hey man how to find out if my 5at sports or not?

 

If you call a dealership they may be able to tell you. 2006+ 5AT w/sport package had them, not sure about the 2005.

 

My 06 5at has it! I knew I had the sport package but I did a quick little burnout to make sure haha

 

ohh ok never mind, mine is an 04 lol
