New 04 Coupe Owner - Wheel/Tire help

(repost from G35 Wheels forum - sorry to repeat here, but no response and am close to buying new wheels - any info appreciated).

I'm a new '04 G35 Coupe Owner with OEM 17" 6-spoke wheels,F-225/50/ZR17, R-235/50/ZR17. Its my daily driver and I love it, but would like to accomplish the following:
1: A little more aggressive look
2: Better rear traction
3: Slightly tighter feel/handling with least affect on ride

I've found a set of aftermarket 18x8.5(F), 18x9.5(R)(35mm Offset on both) that I really like - based on my research, 245/40/18s and 275/40/18's seem to be a good/common fit.

Any opinion on this upgrade achieving my goals welcomed.

I'm a 'tire aspect ratio' newbie, but have researched quite a bit and am a bit confused - based on my caculations, my current rears should be about 0.4" taller(diameter) than the fronts, but they're nearly a full inch taller - what am I missing?

This upgrade should have a slightly taller rear, and slightly shorter front than stock - is this correct?

Also - what do I have to do to retain the tire monitoring system (I've searched a bit and will continue to, but if there's an easy answer - greatly appreciated).

Those wheels wont look aggressive at all if anything they will look sunken into the wheel well, if you want something aggressive go with something in the high teens.

Go big or go home. 20's or bust.

The TPMS is built into the valvestem, so as long as you reuse your stock valve stem you're fine.

I do appreciate the responses, but am looking for a 'little' more aggressive and don't want to drastically change the ride. I think 19's would look better, but that puts the tire profile similar to what I had on an R32, and I was replacing tires after every pothole. Newbie to the G35 and maybe its different, but hate to get into the same situation.

I figure the extra height and width (along with a more aggressive looking wheel), would do the trick - maybe 8.5/9.5 too wide for an 18"?

I run 9/10's in the f/r and it looks fine, i run 18s with +18/+15 offsets. I am also lowerd and running no camber and get no rubbing so you'd be fine.

Personally i love meaty tires on 18s and 19s would just affect ride comfort for me.
