Give me your opinions on the factory sound system.

How is the sound quality?
Would you recommend aftermarket or is it good enough?

It sucks. But if you upgrade to an aftermarket head unit and add a sub and amp, while keeping the stock speakers then they sound amazing.. haha

I know most or maybe everyone thinks they sound crap but I think it sounds fine. Then again I don't turn it up that loud & usually have it off.

They sound fine to me. I would, though, do some speaker upgrades and add subs if I had the money

Either one, Standard or Bose.
Not sure which one I'll be getting.

I have the bose in my car, and it sounds pretty decent. I've definitely heard better, but imo sound should never be the focal point of a car. I turn off my sound to hear the engine sometimes anyway.

If you have the stock one and it sounds good to you, then keep it. Do not spend money on trying to upgrade speakers and such because the only way you can get a better sound is a better Head Unit. Night and day difference.

I listen to my system all the time and loud so it was worth every penny and headache. I would have saved a lot of money on upgrades/labor if I would have just done it right the first time.

The G35 BOSE system sucks. I can't believe they put their name on it since my Bose home system sounds awesome. I expected more from them.

Agreed. Bose companions and home theaters are the ish. Too bad they soiled their name with a $1200 price tag for the G

OP- you must have missed all of the endless posts with people berating the Bose system and standard system.

I don't have a problem with it- sounds good for a car of it's calibre and year compared to other stock systems.

Really- what it all comes down to is you. Just because 10 other people say the system is terrible doesn't mean that it will be to you. Listen to it- if you find it lacking, then you know that you will need to get additional upgrades to make it worthwhile.

The Bose system is not a true Bose system. Took out my front speakers, replaced them with a Boston Acoustics, added a JL 100 watt amp and, wow, absolutely no comparison.
Need to take out the rear sub and replace with another JL amp and a new cd player to complete the set-up. I've replaced the system and speakers in all of my cars so, it's not an issue. It makes a world of an issue but it always runs in the thousands. If you've never done that before I wouldn't do it, it's a great set-up that but, once you listen to anything like that, you're hooked. BTW, I'm already at less than two, with the rest of the set-up I'll be at another two grand, NOT cheap.

Subs are heavy. Buy a Motordyne TDX2, only sound system you'll ever need.
