What do you guys think of the Obsidian Black color on the G35 Coupes? I dont see a lot of people have that color who post on this site. I see a lot of DP and Silver G35's more than anything else. Is there something about this color that stands out?? What the best color in your opinion?

Does anyone have pictures they can post or hyperlink??

Ahhh...the old Black vs. Evryone else debate.

Personally, I love Black cars (I have a black truck) - they look great when clean, and exude a certain Darth-ness. However, as many people will tell you, black is a hard color to keep clean (dirt, dust, water spots, scratches).

I almost bought a black 6MT, but I went to the dealer to check one out. It was totally water-spotted, and the guy said they just cleaned it that morning. I also checked out a black 350Z (same color I think) - and it had a slight nick on the bumper that REALLY stood out.

Instead I got the Desert Graphite - my second color choice. And I have not regretted it.

Black Coupe's are slick. And I've only seen one on the road in the LA area. Problem is taking care of the car. Besides the watermarks, swirlmarks are the real problem. You will be washing that car weekly. But once you take it to the car wash over and over again, those dreaded swirlmarks will appear.

Black looks great on coupe. It is the best in my opinion. You can check some pics in the rides section.

 

When they're clean, they're the best looking car on the road. Unfortunately they're only clean for about 20 minutes. Having said that, this is my second black car, it's not impossible to keep it looking good. I also like the G35 in red.

 

Black is really the only dark color for the Coupe, so that's your only serious choice if you don't want a lighter color (although Diamond is a good compromise). It does, of course, look gorgeous. It's a black car.

On the other hand, I disagree with you about its popularity. I'd say it's the second most common color after Silver. Maybe Diamond pushes it to third, but its definitely more common than the other colors. Mind you, I'd be happier if it was the least popular, but I've seen at least two other black coupes on the road, so...

got a cool black one..had the front grill stripped of its chrome and painted black ( matching color ) and gold plated the front grill emblem and all of the rear emblems. looks real phat..no pictures to post yet.

Tell me your kidding about putting on horrid gold emblems and nameplates.. there is a nick name for that stuff that I can't repeat here because it's not very PC....
