Anything is possible, I guess! With only one or two quarts your engine would have a case of the rattles which should be noticeable.

With the service manager who wrote your receipt being fired, do you see a mistake on your service ticket like the wrong vehicle, engine, or oil type?
What does the OE light indicate, temperature/low pressure? I have two Autometer gauges, one being oil pressure...I watch closely.

OE is pressure. which may correspond to level somehow? I know ud have a higher hydrostatic pressure in the bottom of the pan,,basically volumetric weight of the oil. Dont know where the OE sensor is or does really.

So I would like to ask the OP a direct question which has been alluded to but not answered in this thread:

Did you regularly and frequently check the oil level between oil changes?

Dont think He ever had issues or a reason to check between changes. OC should not have came on this hard. Definitely shud have checked when he got home from dealer.

Yes I did regularly check the oil through the dipstick. It is called preventative maintenance. As a matter of fact, I keep clean rags in the trunk and in my garage for that very reason.

I'm all about helping anyone but this whole story is whack, doesn't make sense, and even if my grandma had a car with a seized engine, she would know what she did to cause it. And this keeps being bumped. Seriously....an engine doesn't just seize, something happened or you were vandalized and didn't know it. One thing causes your engine to seize if its not hydrolocked...no oil. So you had a major oil leak or didn't put oil in.

I still think its your Flux capacitor. Easy fix below.

Ok regular checks is good: that eliminates one line of reasoning expressed in the thread that running the engine chronically low on oil over time could lead to bearing failure, and the failure after dealer oil change was just coincidental bad timing.

Would it be fair to ask for some type of discount on the service since I bought the car from them?

I'd say this is 100% dealer error!! Your car seems to be a well taken care of, properly maintained example, you still go the dealership for oil changes, this is not your fault! I wonder why an oil light would not appear lit up on your dash? I would talk to a lawyer concerning this, they just may be able to scare the dealer straight into taking care of this for you. They are going to deny full responsibility, though from what it appears, they indeed are responsible.

Good luck, please keep us updated on this developing situation!

Well that red line....you don't ALWAYS have to hit it, although in our cars...it's pretty fun. Regular oil checks are super dope also.

some updates

Couple updates: The mechanic told me 2 pistons broke on top end, he said normally they break on bottom. in addition ,the oil pickup was bent. The timing chain was still entact on old engine too. I attached a pic of the old drain pan. The new rebuilt engine already in car. This should the final few days/week.

it seems like a good case to take to attorney and just have them pressure dealer for picking up the bill.

If dealer says that cause of the damage is oil starvation. They were the last ones to touch the car and mess with the oil level before the failure.
I say talk to attorney and maybe have them write a letter to dealer explaining that if they don't pick up the bill you intend to sue.
Keep the records and file a small claims after you done. Logically it is clear that dealer should bare at least half of the cost for replacing new engine due to the fact that they were the last ones to touch it.
