Hi, is there anyone out there kind enough to test their 05 G35 6MT to see what the 0-60 time is???

I bet you won't find anyone willing to do this yet because it is so new and they want to break it in first. My guess is @ 5.5 for 0-60 and 13.9 1/4 mile... That's just my guess based on the weigt and peak HP. I think that 3rd gear is where the major difference will be because of the higher revving engine. Down low it is probrably marginal.

 

I wonder how the new 6 MT 300bhp 350z does, weighing in at 3200lbs
my guess is 13.6 - 13.7 @~ 102mph

My trusty stop watch says 7.0 0-60, is this good???...just playin.

How do you really expect us to do a 0-60, and don't say Gtech.
The best info will be from the 1/4 track and that will be atleast a month or so away b4 people start going.

 

I can get you the 5AT one in a few weeks (almost done with break-in) ... however, it might be slower than the actual b/c I'll need to have someone sit with me to do the timing... and... it's 5AT o.O

 

There's too many people on this board worried about 0-60. Get a clue people! Get your car to a drag strip and quote some 1/4mile times! No more Magazine racing BS!

That being said, I'll have my 05 6MT at the strip the day they open in April . . .

I'm still breaking mine in. The dealer told to drive it hard one day and take it easy the next. They told me thier demos right better than the customer cars. I've taken it to 7200 rpm a couple of times but I generally keep it about 5-6K when coming off an off ramp or on the freeway. As of tonight I have 900km (562 miles) on mine. I put 800km (500 miles) on it in one week.

I gotta give the car a break! LOL

 

0-60 is actually more realistic of what you need on a street. It's not like were going to 100 mph between every stoplight or on every freeway onramp.

That said, even then, stopwatches are a bit hard to use for this. The best test is usually a radar or 5th wheel attached to the car, measuring the speed of the ground. Trying to accurately use the watch and keep en aye on the speedometer is difficult. Not to mention the speedo may not exactly be responsive enough or accurate enough. I've noticed on WOT acceleration runs in 1st and second, the speedo still moves up shortly after I hit the clutch to shift gears. Likely, the speedo won't be fast enough.

 

I think the point of the other poster was that it is best to measure distance in drag racing than speed. A car may be able to get to 60 MPH faster but that soesn't mean that that car will be ahead of another car at 60 MPH. They may be playing catch up if their 60 ft time is behind the other guy.

 

No, my main point was that there's no way to measure 0-60, unless you have the GPS equipment that the magazines use. A 1/4 mile will not only give you a ET over a longer distance, but a trap speed as well, which won't vary NEARLY as much as a time between good and bad drivers. Also, I guess I'm used to playing in the Z06+ territory, where a car will spin it's tires up to 60, THEN start the race (on the street anyway).

Plus, I've been around real racing enough . . . the only people who talk about 0-60 are magazine racers.
