Really... Really bad mpg. 12.5 mpg??

Ok so, I filled up the Ole G with 60 bucks, after taking it all the way down to empty, I mean it was even below the empty line. I drove and got to empty with 250 miles, I checked online and it said that the tank holds 20 gallons? that's a mere 12.5 MPG. No leaks of gas no or anything is 250 miles per tank normal? I am really frustrated :/

OP. How many gallons did you use? It could be a problem with your fuel gauge.

Unless you paid $3.00 per gallon for premium gas, you didn't use 20 gallons of gas.

I'm with Frankie on this, that is not normal.

I certainly don't drive my G like my grandmother would. I'm happy with 12 mpg because I usually get closer to 11!!

Story of my car. I drive mainly in the city, more like 95-99%. And I literally get the same mpg as you before the light comes on.

I myself get 21 mpg, about 85% highway, but i rarely go over 2500 rpms. On the freeway i use the cruise control at 60mph/2100rpms. I use to get 17 mpg bc i was a lead foot. So a full tank = 420 miles

That is really bad. Are you in traffic a lot?

I get about 20 in 50/50.

That's not really an accurate way to estimate fuel economy.

Fill your tank to full. Then reset the trip meter and drive around for 1/2 tank or more. Then go back to the same pump and fill the tank up again and count the number of gallons.

Take the miles you drove to that point, and divide it by the gallons you put into the car and that's your fuel economy.

Reason i stress to go back to the same pump is because different nozzles have the fuel cutoff in different spots. So one nozzle could cut off the flow 1/2 gallon or so different from another. This is also why some nozzles click off way too early and some are perfectly fine.
