Only way to make a G sound like a Vette is to do a LS swap! Better sounding exhaust you don't want anything Borla, they're not worth the $$! Just buy a true dual cat back exhaust from HKS or Motordyne cheaper yet Exoticspeed, throw in a pair of high flow cats like Fast Intentions and she'll sound good without rasp. My coupe's stable mate is a Vette, they never sound the same! Good Luck & Enjoy the ride...Gary

No problem, I can get my hands on a LS1 BUTTT problem is i cannot find a reputable installer in my area. NY car is now at builder in Fla and LS1 is in NY near me. Almost afraid to ask for a mechanic in my area on these forums because of all the nonsense that goes with answers sometimes....seems like some members act like children through their answers. I can try to install LS1 when im get car back IF i can find a guy who knows his ****, otherwise i wont even take the chance.

Haha I hope not. Whosurbuddy and I were talking about this awhile back and if I saw one of those things that wasn't at least as fast as a vette, I'd point and laugh. You need an LS before you do that if you are being serious.

Honestly..you see that, and then under the hood is a 3.5 litre v6? Hell nah. It better be at least a supercharged V8

Last I'd heard, nobody had ever done an LS swap in conjunction with the Vaydor conversion. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on doing a swap to a completely different motor, or at least research it a bit further in case I'm wrong about that. There could be issues with the fitment under the new bodywork if nobody else has done it yet. IIRC the more common motor upgrade route with this kit was to either turbo the stock motor or buy an fully built VQ motor that came with a turbo kit already and plop that in.

Also... you may want to decide on your motor first before deciding on your exhaust since there could be implications based on that in terms of whether you want to go true dual all the way back, etc. and what size piping to use..... sorta a cart-before-the-horse situation.

I have an LS1 from a pontiac, problem is...I dont have a mech who knows his **** in my area to do the swap. Im in Staten Island, NY and like I said, I dont know anything about rebuilding, thats why i ask questions here. car is now in Fla at Vaydor. Seems like its a rare thing to find a mech who can do this. This is why i just passed up on the swap and just sent him the car. G35 was purchased in fla and driven to him...If i had a guy in the tri state area i would have done it. I do understand that this car would be 100x better with the LS but i have no way of getting it installed. Im not a racer, dont drive fast at all...I just like nice looking cars. Im 50, dont need to race around any more. Thanks for the advice still kicking around the idea Matty hasnt started mine yet, I have another couple months.

Honestly, with a swap like this, I would only recommend doing it if you do the work yourself.

All too often I see people have turbos and other complex motor mods done by an outside party and have issues down the road that they can't sort through due to not being a part of the original build, or just not knowing how to work on a motor.

I'm not saying don't do it, but if your initial research leads to you a lack of a competant mechanic who can do the install, then I would recommend NOT doing an LSx swap.

Granted...that is the motor that was crafted by the hand of God and has been known to cure cancer by drinking the used motor oil that has been blessed enough to have been poured into the holy oil pan.
