Help! What would you do... 03 Z06 now, or 05 G35c in May.......

Ok... I was given an interesting offer yesterday.... and I'm really thinking about it! ......

Wondering what you guys think..

A friend of the family is selling his 2003 yellow/black Z06, its in beautiful condition, 24k miles, still under warranty... He wants 33 even for it. I have an 05 loaded g35c 6mt on order, supposed to get here in May.

I drove the z06 today, and all I can say is, holy ish. I knew it was a fast car, but damn, that thing is dangerous..

What would you guys do?! I could save a little cash and the z06 probably wont depreciate as much as a brand new G over a couple years, or would it?

Just some background, I'm single, 23, no kids, dont realy NEED the backseat and this car would be my daily driver.

HELP! Should I do it? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

If your a power junkie I would say go for the Z06!

I would imagine your insurance will be double for the Vette.

Double the G's insurance would really SUCK, quotes I've gotten on the G are in the 1600-1800 range... Maybe I should get some ins quotes, and I'd definitely have to throw some cash at the interior, probably an eclipse AVN. The AC and radio controls look really cheap, only thing I dont like.

Tough call, but it's a good situation to be in.

The monthly expenses on the z06 would be the killer on the deal.

think insurance is expensive... try replacing the tires !

I prefer the xtra emergency seats in the G... thats not a possibility with the Vette.

Id like to think foreign relibility is still superior to American made vehicles. this would sway me from the z06. if i was hell bent on buying american, id pick up the new crysler firepower...

http://www.autoweb.com/content/share...cle_id_int/288

and hell even that is still a posibility for me... though i doubt ill trade my 2005 for it.

damn thats a sweet car.

I got a quote on a 2002 C5 in July of 2001 and they wanted $1800/yr.

I pay about $950 a year on the G.

I would hold out for a new G, or a new C6 Vette. The new Vette has 400 hp to the 405 in the Z06, plus it's new. The Z06 resale values are taking a pounding with the new C6's coming out right now.

The new C6 is very nice... It seems that the C5's including the z06 already took a beating on resale though. 33k seems like a pretty decent price for the z06, maybe it wont go down too much more? Good point though, I wouldnt want to get nailed and have it depreciate like crazy right after I get it...

Just got a couple online insurance quotes, not too bad, full coverage etc, 1950-2300/year very doable! Insurance in tampa sucks too.

Anyone have any insight into the z06 market, Z06ified perhaps? tough decision.

If you like power z06 is the way to go. G35c doesn't give you the holy **** this is tremendous amount of power. It's a luxury coupe, not a sports car. When i test drove the 04 g35c I was waiting for the oh **** power from 280 ponies but got none of that. It just accelerates steady. It's not slow but it isn't badass fast.

Of course you can FI it but that opens a new can of worms with warranty and rebuild. The down side is C5' interior is pretty crappy.

The Z06 would be tempting, but if it were my choice, I'd stick with the new G.
........but then I tend to be overly practical at times.....

If you can afford the bump in insurance I'd have to say go with the Z06...If you had a family or even needed a backseat I'd steer you otherwise...But I've driven one of those beasts, and if a deal on one would have been better Id probably have one of those in my garage right now...They really are an unbelievable sports package, and I like certain aspects of it better then the new C6...Let us know what you decide...

I was surprised that the insurance was as low as I got quoted... not cheap by any means but only around 400 more than what the G would be...

I'm leaning slightly towards the Z06... But I've had my eye on the G for quite some time now! A lot does have to do with the "I can have it NOW!" factor

I probably wont sleep much tonight lol...

Thanks for all the comments guys! Much appreciated.

For only 400 more per year in insurance I'd say go with the Z06...If we were talking stock C5 then I'd say go with the G...But its a Z06!!! Not sure if I can find it but I have a clip of one that I'm sure once you see you'll need no more time to decide, lol...O and sleep well, just think of how nice of a situation your in...You get to be a proud owner of a G or a Z06, no reason to lose sleep over that..ha
