Yes, I think they ruin the lines of the car and are pretty much useless. The height of them wouldnt really obstruct anything from hitting your door. Something just didnt seem right when I saw them on a car and I'm glad I never put mine on. Just be careful about where you park and try not to park so close to someone and hopefully you'll be fine.

I much prefer the look without them, so I chanced not having it.
2 years and 2 months later, there are still no dings on my coupe's sides.
I'm very fussy where I park and can be choosy.
If, like a lot of you I weren't so lucky, I'd have the moldings for the minimal protection they afford.

Looks fine on silver (clear but slightly opaque), may stand out more on other colors.. but regardless, it will take the ding, not the door. I've used them quite often when staying at hotels or in parking garages.
