URGENT: Is this normal?!

Hi, so I have a fully stock 2004 G35 Coupe.

The driver side seat rubs against the centre console area. Is this normal? I attached a picture of the issue. I'm almost positive it's not normal because the passenger side is totally fine. Please let me know if you know how to fix this. Thanks in advance!

Mine doesn't do that. Maybe the result of a heavy or very wide hip/legged person sitting in the drivers seat deformed it and made it rub?

I'm very thin and lightweight, and am 100% certain that my '04 doesn't do this. I bought it new and am the only person who has ever driven it. A paper receipt fell between my seat and the center console a few days ago and I had to try to fish it out, so this is how I know it's not rubbing. I was able to barely fit my fingers in there press it against the console and slide it up and out (since the seat flexes a bit when you do that).

Yours does that, too?

I thought it was just overtime that it happened.

I'm assuming it's not normal, either. I'm very slim as well, especially waist down, so I didn't cause this. I am the second owner, but even the first owner was skinny, he was just very tall, 6'1+. If I jerk my body to the left, the controls shift away from the centre for a split second. I feel like it the centre console area that needs to be pushed, it may be just my seat. Do you have any idea of how I could fix it?

This is what my drivers seat looks like. I'm actually sitting in it while taking this.

That's just dust bro-ski... take it easy, LOL. My car is immaculate except for dust... no eating occurs or has ever been allowed in it, just fluid consumption if it's in a bottle or cup with a cover. It's my 4th vehicle so it doesn't get a lot of use, especially lately... It's only done 3200 miles in the past 3 years and that picture today was taken after not being driven in about a month (work travel) and those little white shreds you see on the gray carpet are loose pieces of Microfiber from the last new pack of Microfiber towels that I used to wipe down the interior probably at the beginning of summer.

Minus the dust, my G is just about the cleanest, lowest mileage, most unmolested and well maintained original owner '04 you'll ever see.

Damn, okay. At least now I have an idea of how much space there should be. If I'm sitting in my seat and move my body towards the door, so the left side, the seat does end up looking like yours, so I'm not sure if my seat cushion is misaligned or the actual rails. The seat move back and forth with no sound and no issues, so I don't think it's the rails. I'm assuming just the cushion?

I don't know, but the cushion seams to be within a metal shape. Something like this \___/ and in the middle the cushion sits. I thing the right side metal piece has been bent if that makes sense. What do you think I should do?
