I was just at an auto show and the options are weird expensive. I don't think it could get to $300k but maybe $200.

Even for the 370z I saw, that B!tch had $22k worth of options...that's like a whole 'nother cars worth...of options. Haha blew my mind.

An Alpha (insert latest and greatest version) on a Nismo GTR would be about 300k

hey guys, still busy 3d modeling. but id like to get a consensus on something. ive been considering keeping the g35 taillights instead of the gtr ones. Doing that would keep this car more genuine than a knockoff gtr and I think that would appeal to more people and give it more credibility. The rear bumper would still be designed different and the rear quarter panels will still be gtr.

You could use some body-colored overlays on the existing G35 taillights to make the circular brake lights and taillights pop and stand out like they do on a GTR. The angles and orientation of them would be wrong in comparison to a GTR though but it might work as a cheap alternative to purchasing new taillights and fabbing up an entire mounting mechanism and bodywork around them.

Nearly $300k out the door.
$300k USD? Was this a factory GTR?

No way its that expensive. MSRP for a new GTR is $101k, and I've seen plenty of used GTR's on Autotrader between $50-60k.

My opinion, I think you should still try go with the GTR tailights. It would make a better conversion IMO. I don't know the dimension differences as the GTR rear-end does look bigger, but if you could make the tailights fit in the G35 correctly, it might come out just fine (depending on how you mold the body panels of course).

If you decide to do the G35 headlights I will do a quad projector install for you for little to nothing to be part of such a cool project.

When looking at GTR headlights, there is much to be desired. The lower portion is a bit too small for any real projector and the top one from the factory is Meh. But the shape of the headlamps are much nicer.

I'll snap a picture of it this weekend when I go to pick up factory ATF/power steering fluids.

I think it was all of the different options it had on it, plus an insane markup. I know of ford dealers right now who have a $28k markup on the GT350. Those who want the latest/greatest are gonna pay through the nose for it. Or they just don't care about the price because they have so much money...

This was in the Phoenix Metro. Coulter Nissan/Infiniti to be exact. I think it's a dealer mark-up.
