G35 to G3R conversion

Hi guys, to introduce myself really quick, im nathan, im in the business of fiberglass fabrication and i design and make alot of fiberglass parts for the automotive kit car industry. Today i began a new project which involves taking a g35 and doing a rebody so that it looks like a GTR using the same headlights and taillights. I thought it would be relevant to post a build journal here in the forums for some of you that are interested to follow. You guys can check out some of my previous work at inspirecomposites.com

considering that real GTR is not exactly a looker and current GTR bumpers available for G35 is just plain ugly, this has a potential to be a disaster, or could turn out to be something interesting.

Is your goal to make a one off car or to make a production kit out of it

I too didnt think highly of the GTR design but ever since i started seeing them on the streets more ive grown to like them. with this re-body, my goal is to make it look like a more aggressive gtr, maybe one with a widebody kit on it like a rocket bunny style. I agree the gtr bumpers for the g35 dont look to good (sorry if i offend anyone) and its because they have to conform to the stock headlight and the hood and over all the style just doesnt match. anyhow, im confident it will turn out nice. Yes, i do plan to produce these to sell.

I will be following this VERY closely. As I am looking for a wide body. I personally have always been a fan of the GTR... BUT converting the G35 over tot he GTR are you going to chop the roof? Keep the same body lines? Are you just going to make it a wide body but keep the G35 hood and trunk area the same? That would be awesome haha.... Doubt it. But could be cool...

I am really interested to see how the rear end turns out. Seems like a lot of work but might look pretty cool. subd

I'm skeptical about this one.

Making the G a kit car (Vaydor) is one thing, but turning it into a production super car...that's a little shaky. I'm gonna subscribe because I hope I'm wrong and you pull it off. Thanks for sharing.

If those are the renderings... My issue is going to be that buying parts for the GTR body wont work... So if I wanted like a duckbill spoiler or a different set of fenders it wont work... Everything will have to be hand done.
