The fuse for the cluster illumination and all gadgets died and had to replace it. Btw it’s fuse # 14, 10A and it’s named “meter” on the fuse box cap. After replacing it got two codes P0462 and P0463, which are both sensors codes, and of course check engine light. Had to reset the codes and the problem vanished. Absolutely nothing to do with the sensors. Everything came from the cluster losing power.
guys I had the same issue for the past 2 years, I have change both sending unit and fuel pump like 3 times after infiniti recommended me to do so, I have bought a second cluster at the scrap and i was having the same problem so I went to a local garage they check wires and everyting seems fine until the head mechanic said we will change the AMPLIFIER CONTROL AIR CONDITIONER 277601NM6D and it resolved my problem. No problem after that so check that first. I bougt that part for $15 at the scrap and I was told its almost $200-300 new.
How does the AMPLIFIER CONTROL AIR CONDITIONER 277601NM6D have anything to do with the fuel level/sender/gauge??? I don't understand?
I have the exact same issue and parts suppliers think I'm crazy searching for this part for my faulty fuel levels?!!!!
I don't know the exact reason why the amp can cause the fuel level sensor error, but "CAN comm. line open or shorted" is one of the possible causes of P0462, and the cluster (combination meter) and A/C auto amp are electrically connected.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I was surprisingly able to source 27760JK700 at a local scrap yard. I installed it and Voila! The fuel gauge now works! Yippee! Engine code cleared and problem fixed! However, I need par 27760JK71A as now I have the error light for the intelligent keyless system illuminated on the dash board! Doh. Well at least I guess I know what the issue is, and how to resolve it. Just need to track down the right part. Takes about 10 mins to install once you've stripped things down.... about 6 screws and same elec connections.
The instrumentation is basically two halves, you have the part behind the steering wheel that has all the gauges and you have the part in the center console behind the clock. AC Auto Amp failure causes instrumentation problems.
I have the exact same issue, and I read through the threads. So, which fixed the issue, replacing the cluster or replacing AMPLIFIER CONTROL AIR CONDITIONER 277601NM6D?
Hi all. I registered specifically to give information. I had the same problem. The air conditioning amplifier control unit that is located behind the radio does not need to be changed. It is necessary to warm up resistors 0.5 W 4 pieces on its board. There cracked soldering on them from overheating.
First time that code popped up for me I cleaned the electrical pickup on the float with a #2 pencil, worked for over a year. Then someone tried to siphon gas from me and the code came back, I haven't pulled the pump yet to look but I imagine it's physical damage this time.
