Is there anyway to diagnose what is wrong?
I have tried doing the ignition trick (turn the key to the ON position, wait 6-7 seconds, turn it off & repeat)
Would a bypass resistor from Ebay or Amazon work in my case?
Not sure on the solid light. Ours is flashing but we removed the passenger front seat and are fixing it. Theoretically the light should go away when we re-install the seat. You don't want to disable the system or you'll have no working airbags.
Ignition ON
Airbag light turns on for 7 seconds
Within 1 second after the light turns off turn INGITION OFF
Rinse/repeat two more times (total of 3 times)
Turn ignition switch ON (this will be the 4th time the switch has been turned ON)
Congratulations you are now in SRS diagnostic mode.
The airbag light will once again remain on for 7 seconds then begin to flash the code for the system that is malfunctioning, it works exactly the way OBD1 used to work with the "morse code pulses" of the light flashing.
I think you misinterpreted what I was saying. The SRS light is solid/continuous/remaining on. It does not turn off after 7 seconds.

I suggest taking it to Nissan for a diagnostic. Consult can communicate directly with the diagnosis sensor unit and they can find the exact problem in minutes. If you can't get it to enter diagnostic mode then your only action is to visually inspect the diagnosis sensor unit for damage.
Ohh I just remembered, there is a 10 amp fuse in the cabin fuse box that you should check as well, it's only function is to supply power to the diagnosis sensor unit.
Alright after checking the FSM it seems the light being solid and not turning off can be from 3 main things, failed diagnosis sensor unit, no power/blown fuses, or airbag deployment.
Thank you! I will look at the fuses under the steering wheel tomorrow and report back. That seems to be a common theme for other cars when the SRS light is solid. Hopefully with G the it is the same.

You craftsman obd scanner will not scan codes that only a Consult scanner can. Nissan are the only place that have it, not your local mechanic, not your nissan specialist shop, ONLY Nissan dealer. If still no codes, at least the Consult scanner can reset and remove that srs light for you if no faulty parts are found.
If there has been an airbag deployment not even the dealership can reset the diagnostic unit. There are some sites on eBay and such that do offer that service but I've never used them and honestly I would rather buy a used module that's never been deployed rather than have someone mucking around with one. Fortunately it's a generic diagnostic unit that's used on a LOT of of Nissan's and they're about $50 used.
What’s the name of the generic one? Also, I’m thinking about getting a used one off eBay.
