Gear grinds while in 1st gear with clutch pedal out?
Hi, i just got my first G and i'm having some clutch problems.
When i drive in 1st, it does a grinding noise with the clutch either in or out
It also grinds when switching gears too fast so i've been granny shifting which is no fun.
I was hoping someone could tell me what's potentialy wrong with it, hope it's nothing major
Welcome to the G35 Driver forums! From what you describe, your clutch isn't totally disengaging which might require a new clutch rather than a simple adjustment! Visit a trans shop in your neighborhood you trust or one your friends recommend...not the stealership! Again, welcome and enjoy the ride! Gary
Driving it like that will wear out your syncros in your transmission REALLY fast. It could be something stupid like a clutch pedal adjustment that wasn't done properly after a clutch replacement, but more likely if you just bought the car you've got an actual issue that needs fixing unless the PO was an idiot.
Bleed the clutch, replace the transmission fluid. If it's still misbehaving then it's time for more troubleshooting, might be a worn clutch master or slave cylinder.
