I checked my 10A tail light fuse and it’s perfectly fine. The same night this happened my trunk lid also stopped opening for some reason.

My ABS unit isn’t buzzing like some have reported in the past nor brake fluid being low, or pads/rotors being low.

Anyone got any ideas what this could be?

I just replaced my brake switch and brake lights still don’t work. So I can rule out:
- blown fuse
- bad brake light switch

Any help at all?


(Trunk lid was a torn wire like last time, but it’s fixed now. )

 

I’m having the same issue right now, can’t seem to find a blown fuse anywhere either. My trunk wasn’t opening and I come to find 4-5 wires in the grommet from the car to the trunk lid basically cut in half. I soldered them up and the trunk works now but I still can’t figure out why the tail lights don’t turn on and why the vdc, abs, and slip lights are on. Checked all my fluid levels and everything is topped off as should be. Called the dealership and they said it could be the ground in the rear, and don’t think it’s anything else because other symptoms would show. Currently stuck in park on my driveway. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for reminding me about this post. So to give an update, my issue was with those same exact trunk wires. At least four of them were completely torn so I increased the length of the wires and crimped all of them. Haven't had any issues with that since.

 

How did you fix your problem? I’m having the same issue right now, I changed the brake light switch along with the cruise control switch under the pedal. Please Help
