Value of the Board is dropping
On many of the boards I've visited in the past, about 70% of the threads created were related to various issues/problems (ok, so they were GM-related boards). Over and over, the same problems being written up all over again and drug through the ringer. But, each time, an interesting new angle was struck.
At least here there are more upbeat threads....
Here. the only problem I see is the over-use of the 'use the search button' comment.
This discourages people from posting.
Instead of this comment, maybe we should simply reply to the thread with a link to a previous post that discussed the same topic. Used in this manner, a 'use the search button' post suddenly becomes some discussion regarding an issue/thread from the past.
Maybe something fresh comes from the discussion that was not brought up before.
Just an idea.

i think everyone just has to realize this and not bash the other view points.
i felt bad for the kid who posted up lambo doors and got flamed like crazy. i mean i'm not saying i like lambo doors but that was just wrong because some ppl had thought that was the ugliest idea.
i also like the posts where older ppl are looking for younger kids to admit that they are spoiled. then tons of 18 yr olds write in saying they've saved up since middle school or running like 3 jobs.
can't we all just smile at eachother as we drive by? personally, i really like to see other g35's on the road because honestly that's the only time i get to see one move. unless i'm next to a big glass window. =)
this post might already be obvious to everyone and i could get flamed but last time i checked this board wasn't for the know-it-all experts.
and newbies, don't be lazy and do the searches!

Well, my story wasn't about the gf wanting a ride, that must have been another one but I won't post to give you justification on what I said and why. Its in the past. Perhaps instead of the "elitist" attitude, it is also a pride thing that we do take in our cars. I think we are proud to be driving G's, regardless of age. I know I don't think I'm better than any guy driving a Civic just because I have this car. After all, thats exactly what it is. Just a car.

I'm kidding but again, I think you know what I'm getting at. Some (not all) have an elitist attitude, I don't mind it, I just find it humorous. I don't care how much $ you make or what kind of car you drive, someone always has more, so you should be humble, unless your name is Gates
I guess some have to feel like they are higher up or better than everyone else to feel good about themselves, sad
"It's still a civic, then his girlfriend asks if she could ride" bwahahahahaha, funny shiiiat!

I have to agree....
Recently I find that most of the posts are just the sharing of MISinformation. When a question is asked, ten people jump in with all kinds of wrong information, flames or offtopic remarks. In just the year and a half I've been here I'm sad to say I observe a pretty steep decline.

Maybe one day you'll see a 911 Turbo or Modena and get ancy and try to have a go. Then he/she will roll down the window and say "It's just a G35"
J/K, enjoy.

I have started kinda in reference what I was talking about and that is just another slapping match. My appoligies for that. Mods, if you wanna lock this thread, I understand. I was venting and said what I meant, but indeed, I created another thread taking the whole focus away.
Interesting thread from someone that’s only been around for a couple of months, but there are some valid points being made here.
Seems like there was a huge influx of new people some months ago. With that came a barrage of newbie questions. At first I ignored them, but they complained. “Nobody will answer my question”. So then I started to answer all the repetitive questions with “do a search”. I became so frustrated I transformed into a search militant. I would chide newbies for not doing a search before they posted. Then I started to feel guilty, so I tried a new approach. I actually tried to answer the newbie questions or I even searched for them and linked the post that would answer their question. I have to tell you though, this gets old rather quickly. It’s just so tedious and way too much effort. Then the newbies started to get smart and preface their newbie question with “I’ve searched for hours with no results…” That’s just a boldfaced lie and pretty irritating. Now I’m starting to get back to being a “search ****”.
As far as your other complaints go, you have to realize that this is a public forum. People are going to post things that you consider pointless. And for every opinion there will an opposite opinion which we all have the right to post. Personally, if someone posts any of the following topics, you’ll most likely get a lot of responses (mostly negative):
• Lambo doors
• Neon
• Flame shooting exhaust
• Driving while intoxicated
• Street racing
• Smoking weed
I’m sure I left some subjects out, feel free to add your own.
As far as people thinking the G is the best car in the world, well it is. It’s the best car in my world, because it’s the best car I could afford. So, I have the right to be proud of a car I have worked VERY hard to obtain. You’re right, it’s not a Porsche or a Ferrari, but dammit it’s mine.
So excuse me for my elitist attitude, but hey I’ve been around for awhile. And to all the newbies, welcome to g35driver.com and please use the search function before you ask which the best exhaust is or what bulb you need to replace the fog lights.
Over and out.

I for one am STOKED that the my350z.com guys are coming over to our FI section and posting about their FI related experiences. We have the BEST, bar none, Regional Forums on any G35 website in the world! We have "light handed" moderators and administrators that let you speak your peace and don't show heavy handed involvement in posts, nor do they show favoritism to certain posters (like some other g35 related boards do).
G35Driver offers something for everyone. If you haven't found what you're looking for may I suggest you click on another portion of this vast resource of G35 related information. If that doesn't do it for you, please feel free to move along in your journey for a better G35 related website. Just remember you’re always welcome to come back and complain if you like.

Bwahahaha, no they didn't, bwahahahahaha. I saw the DUI deal, seen the lambo doors, but a flame shooting exhaust? That takes the frikkin' cake, bwahaahaha, I've seen all the other crap before.
Hey, did you wanna race? J/K, man.

- 20" chrome spinners
- "my dad just bought me a new porsche tt" (remember that old thread?)
- which exhaust should I get?
- what's a z-tube?
- what's better a CAI or a Z-Tube?
- will a Z-Tube void my warranty?
- air bag suspensions
- I hate this website...
did I forget anything?
i agree with the poster that said part of the problem is the variety of owners here.
the g appeals to so many different people, the membership of this board is very diverse.
another issue is the lack of a formal definitive FAQ to answer all of the repetitive questions.
i personally would like to see some of the more repetitive threads taken care of early on. i dont know how others feel but i personally hate seeing threads about the new gtr , 16 year olds with Gs, etc. I have no problems with 16y/o's with Gs and i have no problems with the upcoming gtr (i will buy one), but i cant stand seeing the threads in the coupe discussion forum over and over.
as far as questions regarding whats a plenum, ztube, splashguards, etc... well i didnt know it all and i still dont, so i cant blame anyone for asking. searching helps but sometimes you dont get the definitive answer youre looking for (in my case i lucked out searching my350z.com and finding the plenum video). again a faq would help in instances like this.
as far as people loving the car and believing its the best car in the world.. who am i to disagree with them? as one poster pointed out, it may well be the best car in *that person's* world. nothing wrong with that. imo the only problem comes when people just straight insult other cars.

skeleton_cru, I see your point and as I stated right before your post, I did so in venting and should have thought about the drizzle down effect it would have by posting on the topic.
It is a public forum so your right, I really dont have any room to complain but as you see, it is annoying. I also agree with your search issues. I do many searches behind the scenes without having to post a topic because I have been on Forum boards for many years now and have started one and am a moderator on another board currently for RSX's. So for me being here only 2 months isnt saying much for my background on posting etiquite, but yeah its obvious I havent been around g35driver as long as half you guys. This board has threads for days going into the past for me to view also, so I am not just going on 2 months of posts.
With that said, my complaint is near pointless. It wont change anything. I can live with that.........as soon as my G is delivered

if you want to be a member of a more refined and polite automobile forum, then i would suggest purchasing a car for over 70K or where they have to authorize you first before joining. otherwise, in any other forum this kind of behavior is always going to be present no matter what actions are taken.
