Value of the Board is dropping

It was not long ago when I joined this forum, and not too long before that when I found the boards and browsed. Since then, in that short period of time, it seems like the soap opera drama lovers (or those coming out of the closet about drama) are ransacking the boards with pointless threads. If the pointless threads arent bad enough, what may be worse is people who keep adding to these rediculous posts/comments.

My disclaimer
I appreciate these boards and the majority of the posts I get feedback on. Yes there is a wealth of information that keeps me returning to these boards.

Hypocrites come in all forms for one. Lets take those who think the G is the best car in the world and nothing is better. When a car comes along that costs 10-20k more refined, they say, "well, it doesnt have the power our G has". Next thread appears talking about a less expensive car with more horsepower and the same guy(s) say, well, it doesnt have the refinement the G has. Get over it! The G is not the best car in the world and it can be beaten in almost every facet of the car in other cars depending on what you are looking for. Is it a great value? Hell Yes it is!

When people come for opinions and actually ask questions like they are educated on the topic, they get smart-azz replies for no reason.

As far as some people just being an azz for no reason can bring up other points but the bottom line here is that if this since this is a forum about a car, its workings, components, experiences, etc.... I dont see why some of the members of it have to act like their opinion counts more than the next person on personal levels.

If its time that I get "flamed" here for calling some people out so be it. Some may call this pointless, but it needed to be said none-the-less.

I really like to be here and want to help preserve things here.

Youve only been here 2 months.....

I have noticed since I joined last year, more and more young guys have joined up and brought with them some really jaded (read: retarded) attitudes.
Im 19 myself so unfortunately I fit into that young group but I would hope that I can differentiate myself from the norm (dont mean to overgeneralize)

there is no doubt a number of "elitists" hanging around just waiting to jump on someone's *** because they've asked a question that's already been asked before... I particulary love the guys that state "you owe me 5 minutes of my life for having wasted it."

moderators should be more strict about the kinds of posts ppl make.
some threads go out of hand and it goes on forever and it never gets locked.

I don't think it is elitist to get annoyed by newb's posting redundant questions. When I see these posts, I will generally not reply to them or I'll say to try a search. Recently, there has been a rash of new members posting these types of questions, thinking that they are the first to experience or discover something.

I think that the board is evolving because in the past, there were build problems in the 03-04, so people talked about those. Now that things are better, they are moving on to other topics (some good, some bad).

I agree w/ clokwork, threads seem to always get out of hand, but in all honesty it seems that the same questions and comments always get posted. (IE. M3 vs G35C, G35 0-60...1/4, convertible G35 coupe, 2007 skyline GTR) I honestly dont know how many times I have seen these topics posted in the General forum. I also see alot of the same questions posted in exhaust section or wheels/tires section. People seem to get more lazy I think we just need to stop posting to threads which are repeats?? But we also get alot of completely stupid threads that a 15-16 year old posts and ends up getting flamed. We need to stop b/c kids at that age just want attention whether good or bad. A perfect example is burnout boy, anytime he posts he'll get flamed so lets not even give him the time of day, b/c that brings us down to his level.

It seems like this exact subject comes up every 6 months or so here.......long thread, multiple posts, personal feelings get hurt, people get defensive, etc etc etc.

It's normal to get annoyed...how you handle the situation in my opinion is significantly more annoying than the orginal post however. I mean, they're newbs -- and inherently will have their head up their asses on occasions. So what... getting combative, and telling them to do a search when any one of you veterans can answer the question in .0001 seconds is just stupid. People come to the board seeking help from the ones that have the answers, but also for some degree of interaction. In the end... reposts are just a temporary pain in the ***, douchebags thinking they need to regulate what is acceptable and pruning the board of its new members is a permanent problem.

Off the top of my head, the sunroof thread where somebody asked if it looks better with sunroof tilted up or closed....give me a break.

I have NO problem with repeat posts, assuming they are productive.
I completely agree.

I agree with clock. I'm also really sick of the smart a$$ replys a lot of members give. If you don't have anything constructive to say then don't post.
