Running too rich? FML
Hello once again, havent posted in some time but once again the G is hurtin'
to start- failed emissions (CT) due to system not ready ( o2 sensors)--
ive had a SEL for a whileee but got a code checker and it read out the sensor 2 bank 1 ( passenger side)
Replaced the o2 sensor but realized the last jackass that had the car rigger up the broken female connector that plugs into the o2 sensor--ended up just plugging into that and zip-tied it for extra security
however now i notice when i data log that when the key is on but car is off the voltage is fine- when i start her its either ok or its at 0
i did the MAF reset ( unsure of the exact name) to relearn A/F values and drove for about 180 miles before the 02 system was ready- as SOON as the system was ready mid drive she popped another code this time-
p0172 too rich bank 1 ( could be bank 2 i cant remember right now)
-- side note, since ive had the car-3 years- this white cars booty becomes COVERED in soot to the point where people ask if its painted that way lol- and yes i do wash her i just cant do much in the winter months- so i know shes running rich
Upon doing the b1s2 o2 sensor i did the flex pipes as well ( not my best welding ) and all of my post cat gaskets and now ive found i have a header gasket leak ( i hope the headers arent cracked)
And now the code is reading p1273 b1s1 o2 sensor ( which i just effin changed last year )
So driveablity is just fine--slight loss of power in the top end-- upon leaving work i do notice very very clearly that if i start her--wait 3 mins or so-- and drive off hard ( foot on floor ) she climbs half *** to about 3500-4000rpm then she kicks in---if anyone has driven a built or FBO vtec honda thats the best comparison--like boost lag or vvt.
the only time i can replicate this is when i leave WORK not home--i garage my car at home and park in an open lot at work..
basically i need some insight-
my plan is to buy
mishi thermostat ( need replacement anyways and i heard that coolant temp ****s with closed and open loop for A/F
Header and test pipe gaskets
Fuel pressure Damper
Fuel Pressure Regulator
new female connector for 02 sensor
new k/n air filter
MAF cleaner
red RTV to reseal plenum when i do all this ****
Does anyone have any experience with this or have any input-- thanks guys dont murder me too much lol

So the shorter log ws code p1147 duuriing the driving cycle after I replaced b1s2 o2 sensor
the longer one was about a week after I reset the p1147 code and I believe I ended up getting either the p0172 or p1273...I doont remember the order but I never had more than 1 code at a time

so yes im going to start with the gaskets-air filter-thermostat-spark plugs-the 02 harness and some MAF cleaner and some red rtv for that goddam plenum setup on the vq
if that doesnt help and or fix the issue ill go fuel---spark air fuel right lmao

Never underestimate the power of throttle body cleaner to help find vacuum leaks. Just spray it on any intake gasket you think might be leaking and listen for an rpm drop.
Yea that's the plan..ordered up soome **** and gunn go through it alll this week annd next..shipping and/or buying online sucks a$$ right now
