So i have looked up and researched the driver side code and actually had it repaired.. recall done, sensor replaced and the end result was the airbag itself needed to be replaced.. drove the car cross country and all was good for about 1 year.. Now the light is back...

Two things changed.. had a remote start professionally installed.. light did not come on right away after that.. Getting out of my car i use my elbow on the seat as it is low to the ground and i felt a pop in the seat..(airbag did not deploy but i am sure the plastic probably opened)

so my question is do the airbags have a continuity seal on them so when i pressed on it with my elbow it separated and now the light is going off or should i be looking at something else. (unfortunately this happened only a few days after the remote start). Its easy enough to replace but even a used one will cost close to 150 or more.

You can put the srs system into diagnostic mode and it will flash a code that tells you which part i s malfunctioning.
