Head unit sometimes working, sometimes not
Hey guys, I'm new here and I just bought my 2004 g35 about 2 months ago and I'm already having problems with the head unit. I use a cassette adapter to play music or a Bluetooth FM adapter to play music and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't
Let me explain:
About 70% of the time when I insert the cassette tape adapter, the entire head unit turns off and won't respond to any button presses and won't spit the adapter back out. I have to either wait a bit for it to work or turn off the car and start it again, even then it does work 100% of the time. If the doesn't happen, then sometimes sound comes out of the speakers but sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't turn off, all controls work, but there's no sound. I don't get any error codes on screen or anything, the display just turns off when you insert the adapter and refuses to respond to anything. Same thing with the Bluetooth FM adapter. I tune the radio to the station that the transmitter is set to or to any random radio station and sometimes sound comes out sometimes it doesn't. When I'm driving sound randomly comes on and randomly turns off but if I brake hard and fast sound comes back on 50% of the time. CD works almost 100% of the time but the quality is terrible. I have checked the amp in the back and made sure the connections aren't loose, but haven't gotten the time to fully take out the head unit and inspect
Any ideas on what to do or what might be wrong? Thanks for reading, any help would be appreciated
