reverse light removal DIY??

reverse light removal DIY??

Does anybody have one? I wanted to swap out my reverse light bulbs for some new ones and wanted to know if there was a DIY...I think there is a thread for it in the DIY section, but the link no longer works..as is the case with a lot of threads in that forum...thanks for any help..

You have a sedan, correct? I think this should be in the sedan forum, not the coupe forum.

no...i have an 04 coupe..i just want to change the bulb..not the whole taillight

not 100% sure on this, but go in the trunk then peal back the material lining the trunk behind hte tail light, then unbolt it, then the light bulbs will come right out

Yes, you have to remove the taillights from the car in order to change the bulbs.

so u are saying that the whole taillight has to come out just to change the reverse light lightbulb?

yes that's correct. I've done it personally. It's simple...like 3-4 screws you'll see after peeling back the trunk carpet and then the assembly falls off into your hands. Simply undo the wire/back and replace your bulbs.

i picked up some mtec reverse bulbs...also got the mtec domb light bulbs, sidemarkers, and headlights for the fogs..

i already have the mtecs...tried to get the taillights off today, but its too much trouble..that plastic back there is so cheap too..it cracked a few times..wht garbage..i'll prob just sell the bulbs..

Can't really confirm thats the right bulb however I checked the tech manual and the wattage is exactly the same, so you're probably right.
