Car won't start
I didn't even think about soldering, or those solder shrink tubes. I just put the wires in butt connectors and crimped them down, I tried to put some heat shrink over it but it just covered the connector, so I will need to tape it up so nothing can get in there. I probably should have looked at better ways to connect it instead of using what I had on hand, but it all seems to be holding, it might not be pretty but it works haha
Yeah and it really doesn't look good, the shrink tubs did not compress enough so it is definitely not water resistant. I will need to fix it with either those those tubes or solder, unfortunately I will be away for a while, so I will need to decide which one and fix it properly.

Hate to say it, but you need to keep following the wire. In your first pic, is that black electrical tape on a white w/ black stripe wire the end of the mystery wire? Was it just twist-connected to something and then wrapped with tape? Could it have come undone and that's what's caused the sudden no-start condition? Any aftermarket kill switch/security installation that's come undone? Keep us posted.
