Coolant hose replacement from firewall to bleeder port..
Coolant hose replacement from firewall to bleeder port..
Hey .. just a question in case anyone has been there and done this. I picked up a coolant bleeder port for my G35 coupe from Z1 since the original was stripped out and I think the coolant system had some air in it. Well in doing so I snipped the hose at the bleeder port since I thought you could do that to get the older bleeder port out. Maybe not as it seems tthe hose is to short now to make a firm connection. Am I correct in that? If so, has anyone been successful in just buying the hose that runs from the bleeder port to the firewall and replacing it? Is there a patch I could do? Its a Friday evening and I hate to order all three hoses since I only need the one and I hate to be with no car until late next week as I wait for delivery since nobody would even ship until Monday at earliest. Am I screwed or is there a work around I guess is what I am asking...
I will update this as I spent a couple hours tonight looking around. It appears part number 92402-AL500 is what one needs. Conceptz carries it. I am going to see if the local dealership has any in stock since the car cant be used until this is fixed. Stay away from any hacks...... I see some using connectors and such. Just buy a new hose.
I'd be surprised if you local dealership had it in stock but Nissan can usually get things VERY quickly depending on your area.
You could also just use a barbed coupling and add a new section of hose temporarily. Any local auto parts house should have the correct hose and Home Depot/Lowes will sell a barbed coupling.

Thanks... well, you certainly know your stuff! A call to the local dealership says nope! Can have it by Tuesday though. (figure I will just order it through conceptz since its easier) Thanks for the ideas too. With the lawn sprinkler system I am sure between the funny hose and regular hose and fittings in the shed I could piece together something temporary if its worth it/ needed to. Thanks again, you were spot on as usual...
And an alternative, Dayco part number 88473 for anyone who comes across this thread in the future. Rock Auto has it for $3.84 and shipping is 3.99. Amazing. Yet Z1 wanted to sell me the whole kit for $77 expedited shipping.
