Hey guys everything seemed fine for a bit shifts kinda to hard from second to third around 4500 5000 all other rpm is smooth. Maybe it has to break in alillte but today on break I put car in drive and it stalled twice. The third time it worked fine I did let it warm up an extra 5 min then I drove around for like 5 min. I went through the gears no issues after that. I'm going to check it again next cold start. Also the temp gauge was about 1/4 when it stalled in gear. I never start and go always give a few minutes.
Transgo kit shouldn't have anything to do with car stalling I wouldn't think. But I also wouldn't think it would shift hard (like a bang). Should be like an auto but quick. Hard shifts aren't right. Wonder if the installer messed something up.
So I have about 90 miles on kit seems to have smoothed out as far as the stalling it only did it that one time (well twice back to back ) has been good ever since. When it stalled it felt like if you drop the clutch to fast in a standard car it lunged forward and stalled felt as if my transmission was dragging hard. Idk what that was about but seems good now. I love the way it shifts so quick and crisp. Just it might be in my head but car feels a tiny bit more sluggish In third gear won't climb rpm as fast. Some people told me maybe the trans is slipping less so it's faster just not as quick reving because no slip idk still feels great overall though. I did read the kit raises pressure on the clutch packs to help grip more so no slip would mean rpms are more consistent instead of reving out. But I do feel 0 to 60 is way quicker over all. Idk butt dyno is confusing lmao
Ok i have 230 miles on it now good so far seems to have smoothed out but is still quick shift way quicker then stock. Maybe it hade to break in a bit or the computer had to relearn. But yea it feels great zi would recommend this mod for sure.
not sure if im in the right spot here but i recently bought an 2003 g35 sedan that was stuck in 4th gear and the manumatic didnt work. was told it just needed the tcm replaced (or just the whole trans. so after just taking out the tcm to look it overclean it up, throw it back in. still the same thing only now it doesnt move at all.
long story short ended up cracking the valve body at some point later on dicking aound with it. so i just went and got another transmission. come to find out the new trans valve body plug on the trans is a single connector. as the old transmission valve body connector has 3. (as seen in photos) can i just frankensplice these to use the single connector so i can use the trans? if so i need to find a the info on what each colored wire goes to what other wire.
The harness in the photo is for the older transmission that has the TCM mounted in the cabin next to the ECM. The newer transmission has the single large plug and the TCM is located inside the transmission, I'm not aware of any way to swap from one style transmission to the other because there's a lot of chassis wiring involved getting the TCM moved from the cabin into the transmission housing. Technically it's possible by creating a new bypass harness, I've just never heard if this being done, ever.
The valve body itself uses a different harness too and I don't think they are interchangeable, the only part that's usable off that second transmission you bought is the gears/housing/clutch/etc. You could pop out the grommet from the harness and install your existing valve body/harness into that second donor transmission.
That doesn't help you though if you have a damaged early model valve body.
