Hi im new here and recently got a 2006 G35 coupe for 2k with 128k miles and thought it was a steal but I have a problem with my transmission not wanting to shift into 2nd or 3rd gear even when in manual it say 2nd or 3rd but feels like it’s in first gear still.

i have new transmission solenoids in and don’t have any check engine light for the transmission rn so I’m thinking it’s the TCM but not too sure if anyone else had this problem lmk.

 

That might be why you think you got it for a steal (previous owner might have known about transmission issues). I would start by scanning it for codes. Does it have a check engine light on it? It sounds like your car might be in limp mode.
