04 G35 coupe which headlight replacement bulb?
Hi, our 04 G35 coupe original window sticker shows we have "high mounted HID xenon headlights", so my question is what is the exact bulb number to replace both low beams?
I keep seeing people saying different bulbs, D2R or D2S?
Thanks for your help! I am thinking its the D2S, and maybe phillips has a solid one? Its been about 8 years since we changed them, and they are flickering, going out

Also now wondering, can I just replace the HID xenon's with LED bulb and get rid of the ballast all together as I am thinking maybe the ballast are bad and causing headlights to go out over bumps, or starting to go bad?

Glad you found the answer, but I can say that LED is not the way to go. The reflectors are not designed for that, the cutoff design will not work, and you will blind oncoming drivers. You don't want to be that person.
If the headlamp has a round projector lens inside it then it's D2S (Sealed beam). D2R mean Reflector type (no projector lenses inside the housing).
You need something like these: These connect directly to your ballast. I have LEDs in my 07, different brand but same design and they are 3x stronger and brighter at night, def worth trashing those Osram 35W HIDs..

It was an easy question, but you need to give people time to respond. These are older cars now and the forum doesn't have the activity it used to.
