Tracking Device Mess-up

I just got a Boomerang tracking device installed, similar to lojack in the states, and now my airbag lights keep blinking. My friend says it could be a burnt servo or something, and it happened to his Range Rover and is expensive to fix. I'm going to the Infiniti dealership Thursday to check it out. Has anyone else ever experience a similar problem after installing a tracking device to there G?

You might get more responses if you wait more than 12 minutes before complaining about no responses yet...

The installer did one of 2 things...

He either unplugged your airbag connection behind the dash (probably the one behind the glove box) and then started your car. Either that or he never reinstalled the plug and then you started your car...

Click on this link airbag light reset procedures and follow the procedure. (FYI, THE FAQ SECTION is where the answer to questions like this can be found...)

If this does not clear the light then the installer never plugged your air bag harnesses back together properly. You'll have to contact him/her and see which wires he/she unplugged and go from there. Eventually you'll have to follow the steps at the above link to get the light to quit flashing.

neffster seems to have a pretty good handle on it. all i can say is that i have 2 boomerangs installed and absolutely no problems. why didn't u contact the guy who installed your boomerang??? that would have been the first thing i would have done

You should be on the phone right now with the boomerang installer. Mistakes can be made, and if it is their fault, then they should take care of it.

I had that same light blinking issue as well, but because I unplugged the airbag wire from behind the dash and did not connect it back up properly. Make sure to take apart the dash again and check for a YELLOW connector and make sure it "clicks" when you connect it all the way. The light should go away by itself the next time you turn on the car.

Those yellow connecters on the G mean "don't disconnect..I'm part of the airbag system!" Neffster and RamboRami are both on the ball with it.
