It is all personal preference!!!
I went with 18" Volk GT-U's and am very happy with my decision.
I'm running 9"f & 10"r with 245/40 & 275/40 Toyo T1-S.
I don't cringe as bad every time I hit a pot hole.

I'm just not a fan of the Band-Aid tire look....so I would never consider 20's.

EXACTLY!

An 18" wheel with a lip has a certain construction. The lip is ~1/2" thick radially, which equated to 1" reduction in size. This means an 18" wheel with a lip will look EXACTLY like your 17" wheel does to you now.

Take a look at the back wheel in this pic:

Both the front and rear wheels are 19" however the rear wheel looks smaller than the front due to the larger lip. In person these wheels look SMALLER than the stock 19's but much better.

Likewise Mike. I had 19' Advans on my old car and lets just say they didnt hold up as well as I was hoping they would. I only hit the unavoidable potholes here in Mass, but its like a collision course up here, im constantly on the other side of the road, the middle, and on the high way its a lot worse. Ahh whats a man to do. I will probably go with 19' volks and be really sorry for it by the end of the summer.

I love those PIAA Roza wheels - that's why I bought a set of 2005 G35C OEM rims.

You know, this is a terrific explanation for a phenomenon I could never quite put my finger on - i.e. why certain wheels of the same diameter look smaller than others. As neffster explained as well, I guess it's the parallax effect of a "second" face to the wheel set back from the lip that really makes it obvious. I guess that's also why when I used to have 17" Enkeis with a flush face on my 300ZX people would ask me if they were 18's. Also must be why Infiniti chose a no-lip design for the 18" coupe wheels. Thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks for the input. I just can't justify the extra couple hundred bucks to get just an inch bigger + with the arguments of slower acceleration, braking and throwing in the roads up here in cleveland OH (SUCK)..I think I'll be happy with the 18's. I'm not convinced they'll make such a difference in upgrading to 19's. When I get em on I'll make sure I post som pics. Thanks again....
Some more 19's to add to the confusion.
