When I first got my '05, it almost sounded like straight-cut gears in the transmission making a whirring noise...but it seems to have gone away after about 700kms.

i think i'm gettin it too. it's like a very low pitched beep and it happens when i get pretty close to my set shift point, like when the light starts flashing and almost turning solid. does that sound like what you guys are talkin about? this is my first manual car so i'm pretty new to this. not sure if it's normal or not.

BTW what rpm should i be shifting at during break in?

All G35's go "Whooooooooo" when they accelerate. They sound funny.

When my car is very cold, the engine sounds like its killing a family of owls as I drive down the road, exactly like someone had said. I've always thought it was something to do with the intake manifold, as it got MUCH louder when I put my crawford on. Either that or a family of owls nests in my car nightly.
