When I close the door, the door hits the metal seat belt fastener. When I reach back put the seat belt on, the metal fastener rubs against the door, not to mention the seat. Anyone's door starting to look messed up? Anyone figure out a fix?

I have the same problem but I don't see any wear and tear on the door or seat as of yet. Also, the other day it took five tries to turn the car on. I'm concerned.

i haven't seen any scuff marks on the door but i do hear the belt rattling when nobody is in the passenger seat...

I've taken to buckling the passenger seat belt even when I'm alone to keep it from rattling.

Likewise. It's a flaw in the design. Other than buckling it in, you can extend the buckle's support arm further out and maybe bend it in towards the compartment a bit. I bet the '04s don't have this little annoyance.

Re: Passenger seatbelt buckle rattle. I have found that if you retract the belt as far up as it will go and make sure the metal buckle is above the seat back top, it will not rattle. It rattles when it is lower, between the seat side and door glass.
Maybe Infiniti will come up with a fix for this inconvenience.

Only thing to do with the belt and buckly is to fully retract it and place the buckle at the top when you take it off. That way it won't bang on the door and window when you close it. Mine will bang occasionally on the seat and window but I haven't noticed any wear and tear yet.

I figured out what to do about the beats. Other two door cars have a seat belt holder conected to the side of the seat and not the cabin wall. I'll look at different cars and post pics of what I did.

The plastic holder can be rotated towards the front of the car - it has a few "clicks" where it locks in place. I clicked mine front on both sides (so they're almost horizontal), then have the seats all the way back and the seatbacks tilted far enough back that they're clear of the buckle...

I have the extender arm pointing towards the hood... I wonder if the older models have this arm?

I have not trouble ..passenger seat bottom portion is all the way back and the back portion is at a comfortable seating angle ..roughly the head rest is about 6 inches ahead of the A pillar.

I also here a rattltling in the passenger seat..... At first i thought that is was something in the door....But aparently it may be something wrong in the seat...

The noise I hear from my doors is not the seat belt. It's actually something in the door. I can really hear it when the window is rolled down halfway down. Going to have the dealer check it out when I bring it in for service.

I've had this problem too, but I finally figured out a simple fix.

the problem is, it's not a permanent fix - every time somebody sits in the seat and latches the seatbelt, you'll have to re-do the "fix"...

All you do is flip the latch around so that the metal part is facing the seat, instead of the door. It's ridiculously simple, which is probably why nobody has thought if it yet, but it works!
