Anyone else purchase the WHEEL/TIRE warranty?
My dealer told me that even if you upgrade to a rim size of up to 20", the warranty still covers any damages. Anyone had any experience with this or know if its true??

I used the warranty after 3500 miles on the new car and I noticed a screw in the tire kinda close to the sidewall (it still protruded a 1/4 inch even after driving/tire rotation). I could have taken the tire anywhere to get fixed and get reimbursed, but I took it to the dealer I bought it from so I wouldn't have to pay and then wait to get reimbursed. They said they would try to plug it, but the screw ended up being too close to the sidewall so they replaced the potenza, total of almost $400. So, the warranty paid for itself right there. The process was very easy, but the dealer technician used metal tools trying to remove the tire and dinged my wheel......if only there was some kind of adhesive strip on a roll that could be used to wrap the pry bar and prevent damage....
I made a post about the fine print in the contract here, if that's any help...

i did. i got a new tire... and 2 weeks later i popped it flat. ran over a sharp object that punctured the tire near the sidwall, which wasnt repairable. i ended up dishing out another $215 for a new yokohama when i coulda got a free one.
I bought this warranty with my car and have used it three times! I am actually on the plus side of what I paid for. Paid 350$ for it, and replaced 3 Toyo T1R Tires for free ! All three cases I had something puncture the side well of my tire (cant be fixed). I then contact the warranty issuer (usually not the dealer, but another company) and tell them the story of how/what happened. They send me paperwork to fill out, and I buy my tire. In about 7-10 business days, they send me a check for the tire as well as the cost to get it mounted/balanced at Mr. Tire. Everything has been smooth, and the warranty has worked great for me.
I got a rim & tire warranty through Infiniti for $120 - that's the cost of the warranty to dealerships. I think it's worth the money at that price, especially with the 19" rims & expensive Potenza tires. I havn't used it yet but in the last 3 years our Q45 got 3 flats and 1 bent rim - damn, I should have bought the warranty for that car.
