Ive only hit 120 in my G once, ill get to that story in a sec. Anything over 100 and I worry about police. I rarely do anytihng over 90 on the highway, I just dont need the shi* i read daily on this forum in my life. Ok, onto the story.

I was on I-495 south one night about six months after I got my G. Im in the fast lane doing about 75 not really focused on anything when all of a sudden I see G35 Coupe taillights. (I always see sedans but when I see a coupe, especially driving and not parked. Its really rare and to date ive only seen 5 driving coupes and ive had my G for a year and a half.) So I pull up to a IP coupe with clear corners and from the glow of the nav in his car, I could see him. He was just as excited and stunned as me and after crusing for a few seconds next to eachother, I decide to drop to 5th and see if he will play. I got in front of him and moved to the slow lane, becuase I wanted to see the brakes to see if it was a stick. Well it was an auto, so I thought to myself... o yea! So now im next to him again and I look over at him. He points at his horn and starts using the horn to signity the count down. after his second beep of the horn I dropped to 4th and i let didnt floor it till he did. I got the jump on him, with his bumper at my doors. I hit 5th hard, but we didnt move. I stayed on it till 120 when i let off and his bumper never really moved from my door. Needless to say I was thrilled with both cars, I had to get off so I put my window down, gave a thumb up and waved goodbye, and he did the same. I wish I could find that guy again becuase he seemed cool. Well that story got away from me, but just thought I would like to share my highest speed in my G was next to another G doing the same speed

I've done 155 in my dads 928, about 130 in my Audi and 145 in the G, it's quite scary when you get past about 110.

145 in my coupe on a stock suspension...very stable. With the S-Techs, the car is unbelievably stable I have to constantly watch my speed.

155 in my 69 camaro (434 cubic inch small block) Motor had much more but the car was becoming real scary at that speed, 168 mph in the quarter mile on a GSXR 1100 with turbo on the track (Atco New Jersey). G about 85 so far.

135 in the open Arizona desert in my 98 Eclipse GST. Between Tucson and Yuma you can go for miles without seeing a single car on your side of the interstate on long straight and flatch stretches, late at night. Now, you do have to watch out for the illegals making their runs across the highway, they are spry but you still gotta watch out.

too fast?

I have gotten my G35 up to 140 mph and I was regularly driving at 100-120 comfortably on my commute until I got stopped for going 107. The cop threatened to arrest me for it, but I got away with a mere $300 ticket. I have been keeping below 80 since then.

My '97 GSX didn't have a rev-limiter or speed limiter from the factory. Another benefit of the GSX model. I got it up to 155 and still had enough revs to hit 165-170... ...but this was on the stock tires which were rated at 145 or 150 or so. It took a little time to go from 145-155, but it was very stable. And that was on the stock turbo! I never did try a top speed run after the 16G install. Of course, quickness became the addiction at that point, rather than top speed. I'm sure it would have hit 165-170 a lot faster... ...but what's the point? No other cars could touch it from a standstill (that I encountered) and the top speed was higher than most cars' limiters. It's specialty was humiliating all stoplight challengers (short of serious street bikes), so that's where I enjoyed it the most. At 27 or so, I came to grips with my mortality and stopped high-speed runs. You seldomly get second chances at above 150.

I've weaved in the g at 130-140, everything stock and it's extremely stable. Although when I cut a lane too fast vdc kicked in and although it caught me a little off guard it's nice to know it was still making accurate adjustments at 135.

I'm surprised you guys get scared going 100-120 in our cars, I catch myself doing low triple digits all the time on accident and have to slow down quite a bit. People will say I drive fast, but then when they get in my car I'll be going 110 and say ok does this feel crazy right now, like we're about to lose control and everyone is always surprised by how "normal" everything feels at those speeds. I even told a friend ok we're doing 140 now and she thought I was kidding, thought we were just doing 100. And when I slowed it down to 100 she said yea this is how it always feels - and it's not that I'm driving 100mph everywhere, just that it feels pretty much the same as 70.

I've never gotton mine past 146 though (2003 coupe), need to get rid of that governor! Even at that speed nothing felt light or floaty or loose, although if you do those speeds with the sunroof open it sounds like a jet taking off.

I hear you. The 5G Lude topped out at over 140mph and IIRC the 4G Si VTEC Lude was even faster.

Anyway, I did ~143mph in my 2002 Maxima about 2 years ago while running with an Acura TL-S on a suprisingly empty section of the NJ Turnpike (weekend - Truck lanes).
