Vibration on stick
Newb question. Just test drived a 6MT '05 coupe and felt some vibration on the stick when driving. Dealer said this is normal for a "sports" car and that the previous manual experience I had (Supra, BMW 330) are not... Is it true that the vibration on the stick is normal?

My 03 6mt coupe had vibration transmitted thru the shifter. It was really present in 6th cruising on the freeway. But after a few thousand miles and everything broke in, it's greatly reduced. If your used to front wheel drive cars, there's alot of linkage from the transaxle to the shifter. With the G's front/mid engine longitudinal transmission there's not as much linkage to the shifter, and this layout will have more vibration in shifter feel. Thats part of the fun in a manual trans, your more in tune with the workings of the car!

IMO, it's not normal. the G/Z is the only car that had this and (I know it's really picky, but...) I almost didn't get the car b/c of this. I really dislike it. There has to be something we can do to isolate the shifter slightly so that you don't feel it vibrate like that. I've never noticed any other quality car I've ever driven shake to the extent of this one.
