Wait, so let me get this straight..

The 05' 6MT 298hp only beat the 04 5AT 280hp (with giant sub) by that little?

I testdrove the 6MT and I didnt think it was all that over the 5AT, but then again I allready have a Corvette and Porsche in 6 speeds, so I cant have all sticks so I went with the 5AT and this car is still kicking everythings *** in sight. Was the Auto G35 using manumatic or straight out Drive?

Anyway, that is a really hot IP coupe!

 

People focus on HP too much without talking about torque. Torque is the more important of the two...

2003 vs 2004 vs 2005 WHO CARES! It is definitely interesting to see races between the different model years, but jeebus there is no reason to be antagonistic towards others. Besides, we ALL know that 2003 was the only year to win MOTOR TREND CAR OF THE YEAR!!!!! HAHA

heeb: car was in reg. drive the whole time, launched using brake-torquing. thanks for the compliment

maddflasher: maybe you are right, that the 05 6mt isnt as fast as it seems (does have 10 less torque), but it did pull VERY quickly once we passed about 60 mph. my other friend's 03 6mt never walked on me that hard at that speed. as for the previous generations at vs mt, yes the stick is a tad faster, but like heeb said the auto can hold its own and will give any mt a good run. keep in mind my wheels are much heavier also.

and once again, klumzyee and i arent trying to start controversy or anything over which year/transmission is faster than the other. we just posted because the videos turned out well and thought itd be interesting since we have yet to see any previous footage of the 05s.

Sound like the 05 isn't fully broken into.

 

When I testdrove the G for the first time, the salesman mentioned that the only reason the 04 and 05 G35s werent car of the year, is because once a car has been "Car of the year" that eliminates that car from winning again until there is a style change or something.
