short gas pedal?

i went to test drive a 05' g35 coupe yesterday and i test drove an auto. for some reason the gas pedal only seemed to depress about 2 inches. maybe it could've gone in more but i met a lot of resistance after 2 inches. i'm used to driving camrys and accords. the gas pedals in those cars go down all the way to the wall which is like 6-7 inches. my friend said it's because the g35 is a sports car and it's supposed to be like that. i just thought it felt funny, not a bad thing but just wanted to verify if it's normal thx.

Too funny. C'mon 6-7 inches....there is no car out there with that much gas pedal travel. I haven't driven an 18 wheeler- maybe they do but I doubt it.
Every manufacturer will have a slightly different set up but being a sports car has nothing to do with it. There is nothing wrong with the G you're driving- the travel is about 2 1/4" and some manufacturers may have up to another inch or so.
