Driving Styles to maximize Fuel Economy

let's say you use 1 tank of gas a week. the difference in cost between getting 20mpg and 16mpg is roughly $10-15 depending on gas prices. if you can't find $10-15 every week, you shouldn't have bought this car. you have bigger issues to deal with such as money management than fuel economy

LOL.. i didn't know that "M6" didn't mean the same thing with respect to G35's in the States.
And Yes, I know rev's depend on the gear (i'm not an idiot) and it's obvious that you want to be cruising on the highway at your highest gear. :P I thought I didn't need make these assumptions.
Anyway, I'm not trying to sound cheap, but hey, if you can drive at the optimal speed without taking too much more time to get to your destination, then I don't see why not. Better to have the $1k in my pocket than to the evil gas companies.
I wanted to compare my driving habits with other fellow G35 M6 owners... I have been shifting from between 2500-3000rpm's and I was wondering how others drive!
BTW, i see many signatures here with "2003.5", "2004.5".. does this mean you bought it half way through the year? If that's the case, what difference does it make if you bought it at the beginning, middle or end of the year?!

Sometimes they change a few things on the car mid year, hence the .5.
I shift around 3k to 3.5k rpms except coming outta first I usually shift 4k cause it's smoother than letting off the gas at 2.5k. Every so often I will drive it a little harder.
I get about 18-19mpg with about half and half city and highway, with Houston traffic too.

Right which is why its CONSTANTLY adapting....it doesn't just adapt to thr first thing it sees...I mean NOT everyone drives like its always being broken in...
