Quote: I say buy the 05 and then upgrade the brakes of aftermarket Brembos, Endless or Stoptech. You can always upgrade the brakes but an interior makeover would be very very difficult to do. Besides, seems the dyno proves 05 has significant power advantage over the 04. (6MT)

er uhh the 0-60 and the 1/4mile...say otherwise

I would say go with the '05. I think the interior improvements are well worth the look of the Brembo's. As others have mentioned, it is basically the same car. It is just up to you if you want to have the new '05 wheels, interior, +hp/-tq and pay an extra $5000 or so OR do you want a used G with miles on it with the 18"s which I prefer, pretty Brembo's and a lower price tag?

I traded my 3800 miled 04 G for an 05. Why? Cuz the interior is so much nicer. There are so many improvements that you wouldnt know unless you trade in your 04 for an 05. You can add better brembos later.

The way I see it, it costs less to upgrade an 05 to brembos than upgrade an 04 to look as good interiorwise as the 05. Besides, one whole year new model, better value.

The the people with brembos, do they create a lot of brake dust on your front rims? I like my 05 because there isn't hardly any brake dust on my chrome rims. Jus wondering because I like to have my ride clean and I know on my previous ride (Acura Integra GS-R w/big brakes), I had to clean my rims every three days due to the brake dust.

I would say 04 with Brembos. I have lost count of the number of people (old and young) who I catch helplessley gazing into the front wheelwell at a stop light in amazement of "Bronze Brembos", they are like deer in the headlights. I don't think the 05 interior upgrades (and same 1 10ths difference in performance makes that much of a difference between em'). Plus theres nothing like being able to literally "drop in" your brakes pads with minimal tools!!! Also, in my situation, I bought my 04 model in 05, so I am a year ahead in the fact that I have an 04 with only 4500 miles.

yeah 04 w/ brembos. looking back, i could do away w/ all the interior upgrades, plus no graphite on IP on 05s. and i like 04 18"s better.

05 owners, you know you get envious too when you side up against 04 w/ goldies well... some.

The right answer is...
Well its your choice:

04 with Brembo -
1) Nice looking calipers always get attention.
2) Better braking performance
3) More costly to maintain
4) I am happy with my choice of the 04 instead
5) better response to bolt-on parts (could be wrong here)
6) more torque less hp. lighter car.

05 without Brembo -
1) Heavier car with less torque and more horsepower - marketing bull****.
2) No brembo brakes. Yea they all look the same now.
3) cheaper brake maintaince. (rotors and pads)
4) you have an 05.

Quote: You're right there was a reason for the Brembos to be dropped. It was to help increase profit margins for Infiniti not to improve the car.
That's not true. Nissan had to pay for those Brembos to be there just like you do. I was told they reverse engineered them to create OEM brakes that have 99% of the performance of Brembos at 1/3 the price. This freed up several thousand dollars to make significant interior improvements while keeping the base price the same.

To me, when you're driving a $40k luxury brand car, you expect the interior to be more Aluminum than plastic. (And to have a nicer guage cluster than a Kia) 05 all the way. Simply no question.

I will have to go with 04'. Brembos just look so nice when ur rims are clean and "blinging" in the sun. They just draw so much attention with their beauty!!

I agree about the 05s there is nothing really to tell them apart from AT or 6mt. The only thing i envy about the 05 are the 2-tone interior tan and black...i think that shat looks nice!
