Off the top of my head, 05 are better than 04 Coupes 6MT in...

-Seats are fully automatic now
-Pull a lever to fully tilt the seats and push a button on the back to have it move forward for passengers to go behind. Press the button on the back again and after it finishes moving, push the seat back to position and it will come back to its previous location (Think of it as a memory seat storing only one entry).
-Clutch is lighter to press (less of a workout when a lot of trafic is presented).
-Gear shifts better (except with the reverse, sometimes, you have to put it in first then reverse for it to go in).
-Trunk release feels better placed, plus its less hard to press on (yep I notice even this!)
-19 inch
-VLSD
-Interior WAY better (aluminum,mp3,muucch better dash, REV limiter)
-7" NAV instead of 6.5 with new software (more roads etc).
-Car with less miles and better condition as an 04 new surely has sat under the sun and had several test drives.
-More confortable seats, even for me! (I am 5.7 and 164lbs so not tall and thin)
-Better leather (Just feeling it you can notice it, also, when you press on the steering wheel, you feel it cushioned unlike 04's)

Cant remember more off the top of my head, but 05 is the definite choice.

go with the brembo i got the new 04 w/brembo's over the 05 bc not many ppl reliaze how important breaks are and wit my brembo's noooo break fade u could slam'em and if the passanger isnt weating a seat belt the may do a face plant in ur winsheild the cool very well for not being slotted or vented awesome breaks i love them dont regret my desision.... my friend has the 05 i like my interior better the radio has a ***.... so while hes playing wit his *** im pushing buttons and also i think that the moving seats are more convient in the 04, the only thing i wish i had was mp3's but hopefully im going to get an aftermarket radio anyway

im answering only for myself... not flamin you

-Seats are fully automatic now
>>nice to have but i can live w/ my 04s seat.

-Pull a lever to fully tilt the seats and push a button on the back to have it move forward for passengers to go behind. Press the button on the back again and after it finishes moving, push the seat back to position and it will come back to its previous location (Think of it as a memory seat storing only one entry).
>>same reason as above, seldom have ppl back there anyway.

-Clutch is lighter to press (less of a workout when a lot of trafic is presented).
>>used to driving stick in traffic all my life. i get used to a clutch of any kind w/in 15mins of driving it.

-Gear shifts better (except with the reverse, sometimes, you have to put it in first then reverse for it to go in).
>> yeah heard the 05s shift smoother, nice to have, but then im so used to mine after the 1st week, i only notice it when i drive a diff car w/ a smoother shifter.

-Trunk release feels better placed, plus its less hard to press on (yep I notice even this!)
>> dont care, i could reach it in the dark. and pushing w/ a finger is hard?

-19 inch
>> bigger is better, but the 18" design looks way better to me. and better ride i suppose.

-VLSD
>>04 has it too right? if 05s have better, idont care, i dont track this car.

-Interior WAY better (aluminum,mp3,muucch better dash, REV limiter)
>>mp3 nice to have, but dont have a collection anyway. revlimiter or rev light? i dont need it, i can see and know when to shift. aluminum? nice. much better dash? hmm they just rearranged it, modified some gauges. but better i suppose for some.

-7" NAV instead of 6.5 with new software (more roads etc).
>>dont have NAV getting a portable instead

-Car with less miles and better condition as an 04 new surely has sat under the sun and had several test drives.
>> come 06, it will have less miles than an 05. its a cycle.

-More confortable seats, even for me! (I am 5.7 and 164lbs so not tall and thin)
>>i think the seats are the same.

-Better leather (Just feeling it you can notice it, also, when you press on the steering wheel, you feel it cushioned unlike 04's)
>>same as above.

another factor for me aside from the brembos is no IP/Graphite combo on the 05.

G3NIU5 - If you dont track then why prefer the 04 over 05 because of the brembos? It is only at the track that you see improovement on the brembos. VLSD, I dont think came with the 04's and this thing is needed during cornering, not only cornering at the track. What I mean by mileage is... if you get a new 05 right now, you can get it off the boat (like me) with 8 miles on the clock while if you get a new 04, you are getting a car that has been sitting under the sun for a long *** time and driven already (for me this is a big thing, I always shade my car and my leather seats have yet to have the sun touch them - that goes fro my 04 I had before too). Seats are different, better leather, different color, 1 more color choice, and the cushions to the side (not the center part) dont stick up so much so you seat better. Sit on the 04 when its semi-dark and then seat on the 05 and you will see how big the interior diff change is.

Bottom line, I do miss my brembos, but I will get them later (better brembos than stock 04 ones). Getting brembos for the 05 is cheaper than making an 04's interior look as good as an 05 (add in the cost of VLSD, bigger rims, better tires and you end up paying waaay more).

I do agree with you on the 18" design. Those are awesome. 05's arent as good, but look cool nonetheless (some people, not me, like the 05 rims better for some reason).

I think I'm right when I say all '03/'04 Coupes came with a VLSD. But I'm not 100% sure.

In Canada, the 03/04 6MT definitely came with VLSD. It may be different in the U.S. since here the 6MT came fully loaded (leather, sunroof, Bose, bi-climate control, spoiler and defuser, homelink, VLSD,...), the only option was the NAV.

As far as I know, the 04's have another type of lim slip diff. Im sure someone will set this straight.

All 03/04 with 18" and 05 with 19" have VLSD regardless of transmission. 03/04 with 17" and 05 with 17" and 18" have an open differential instead.

One other aspect is that an '04 with the Brembo's will cost significantly less than an '05 without. I chose the '04, got a great deal, saved big bucks, absolutely love this car with the Brem's, then went crazy with mod madness. Go for it.

I actually care MUCH more for carribean blue then the brembos. That would be the key factor for me.

Also...the updates on 05 are mroe the cosmetic...there's things like power recline, power tilt and telescope for steering, 7" vs. 6.5" navi screen etc... I think the 04 resembled more of a traditional japanese feel and the 05 has more european to it. (Like how the gauges in the 04 looked "90's japanese" simplistic...even though the color was ****...whereas the 05 has more of a luxrious european touch to it)

I believe that a well maintained original 03/04 G35C 6MT will be in higher demand and worth more $$ in a few years because they have the stock Brembo. Therefore, I'm happy that Infiniti decided to remove these in the 05 models since I plan to keep this car for a long time.
