The '05 brakes are sling-style calipers as opposed to the 4-pot Brembo calipers. Whoever told you they were reverse-engineered is dead wrong. Completely different type of caliper. They are also from the 03-04 M45. I just installed Porterfield pads that were meant for an 03-04 M45 on my '05.

the big **** for the climate control is cheap looking compared to the 03/04 that's the only thing I didn't like what they did to the inside and I also think the design of the 18" rims are way nicer than the 19" I'll keep my brembos but it's all the same car either way you win cause you'll have a G

I personally think Nissan Motor Company has a certain alotment each year with Brembo for their brake calipers. It seems that in late 04, when the 05 G's came out with no Brembo's availible, then mysteriously the Nissan Sentra SE-R is offered in 05 with Brembo's, their alotment just got appointed to a different model. Also I would think that due to the 03.5-04.5 models that were previously in production, a lot more squeaking rattling issues might have been addressed throughout the model year, at the factory/pre-delivery dealer level, the 05s are a brand new batch to be re-adjusted due to issues that can only be realized as time goes by.

wow, looking closer at the 05 dash reminds of my gf's SE-R Spec V, gauge numbers, markings and stitches but looks more expensive. not too close but it's there. not saying its bad though but 2 out of 3 in those pictures i favor the 04. but tough decision. add the brembos, and it makes it easier for me in the end, u always win, either 04 or 05.

^There is no way you can say the speedometer on the 04 is better than the 05. The 04 looks cheap and flat. 05's have overlaps and lights up better.

I much preffer the 05 Steering; but the 05 gauge cluster with its 5 rings (especially the one where the REV light is) is not as clean looking as the 03/04. Then again, this is just my opinion...

If you get RED brembos (more expensive ones, better) ON an 05, youll see more jaws drop.

If i found a totaled 03-04 g35 in a junk yard or just bought them from infiniti is there any reason i couldnt fit the brembos on the 05?

Bam! I love my Brembos. I also like the interior of the 03-04, but that is just my taste.

You are not going to go wrong with any year you chose. Don't bother trying to convert a stock brembo system. Get the Red aftermarket ones that are designed for an 05... they will give better performance and will be engineered for bolting up for your current braking system.

Brembos! The car has more torque in 03-04 as well and the additional HP doesn't make much of a difference in the 05. And with the choice of torque or HP, torque always wins on daily driving. There's no argument that HP is better when its roughly 10 ft/lbs v. 10 hp.

I drove both and the only things I liked about the 05 over my car were the telescoping steering wheel and aluminum trim. HOWEVER, you lose the Brembos, which are expensive and the car STILL costs more. My choice would be a lightly used 04 and do a custom Aluminum kit or something. But I think the 05 brought the car down a notch as a sports car.

03-04 6MT's were "limited edition" and completely loaded.

Ill choose the 04. But maybe my opinion is biased since i have an 04 with the Brembos. I had an opportunity to get an 05 but I was informed by the dealer of "no Brembos". Easy choice...go with the 04 w/Brembos. Even if I was able to get a good deal on an 05, how much is a decent brake kit and installation? PJ
