So, Im going to work this morning and soon after leaving my house I notice that the "SET" light on the dash is blinking. This is the light you see next to CRUISE when you set the cruise control.

I have not looked in the manual yet, but does anyone know what this is or means? The car was running fine.

So I take it you don't know what the blinking lights means.

 

My service manual states:

* Malfunction for some self-diagnoses regarding ASCD (Automatic Speed Control Device) control: SET lamp will blink quickly.

 

Thanks for looking it up. So, this could mean that my cruise control is malfunctioning? I didn't even try to use it this morning. When I got to work, I shut off the car, waited about 2 mins., and then started it and the blinking light was not present. So, I'll see what happens.

From what I remember, that blinking means there's malfuncition with the Cruise. Try doing a reset/restart and applying the cruise again. If no results, see the dealer.

I just drove it about 10 miles on the freeway and the light did not come back on. I tried the cruise control and it didn't work. I think tried to raise the brake pedal with my foot and then the cruise control worked. So, I think Im gonna jimmy with the brake pedal sensor. We'll see.

 

The blinking "SET" light came back today. Looks like another thing to add to the list for the dealer when I go in next week.

 

Did you find the reason for the Set light blinking? Just started happening to me today and I can't figure out why.
