Joe,

Good luck! Since March, I have tried to order those from Infiniti and Nissan dealers. The order will show every indication that they will come in, then the order will come back and they are simply not available.

Yes I work for a dealer (Infiniti of Scottsdale). Everytime up to yesterday when I ordered those part numbers they have cancelled, which means they are not available. As of yesterday when I ordered them they show allocated, which gives me every indication that I will be getting them in. But you know what they say, the're not really here until the're in my hands! I will let you all know Teusday.

Wow - cool, and great to see another dealer posting in the forums. (I'm mainly over at FreshAlloy, so my apologies - I wasn't aware there was another dealer here). Things are looking a bit more optimistic, though really really confusing.

Gotta give you dibs for being on top of this one, Joe (as well as the original poster, BillR). Hope I was wrong and this is the real deal (I think I'm getting far too cynical from past experience - lol).

Here's a post on FA from DFW_Infiniti that followed yours there (don't think he'd mind me quoting him):

"This is getting more interesting by the day. As of yesterday Infiniti tells me that they will not support non prewired cars. The part numbers shown above will not accept in the parts system yesterday but today they show to be good numbers. Confusing.

IF they release those numbers for shipment, they are in fact the correct harness parts for prewiring a car. If that is the case the people at the regional office for Infiniti are totally unaware of it. Even more confusing!

In any case we ordered some just to see if they will release and ship and we will know on Monday."

Joe,
What is your dealership planning to charge for the wiring harness for a coupe and the installation?

Fantastic! Yup - all over the FA forums too. Glad I was wrong about this one. And I'm really glad there's a solution for those without the pre-wiring.

I'm really happy with Infiniti for standing by their product and supporting what is probably a pretty low volume of customers in the grand scheme of things. Very cool.

Wow, what a shocker! Nationwide INFINITI in MD is installing one tomorrow. Call Norman tomorrow (6-19-03) for details and $$$. 410-561-1000. Slap it UP!!! He can schedule instals starting next week.

Has anyone installed the $33 harness on their own? Is this a difficult task? Is there any special precautions, i.e., unplugging the battery, resetting things once you plug the battery back in .. thanks!
